So after breakfast and walking around a bit I wanted something to enjoy and combat the heat, I noticed Kona Bowls on my way to the river and stopped on way back, it's a pretty busy spot; the staff are young ladies maybe tad inexperienced but you can tell they put forth the effort to provide great customer service. After receiving my smoothie I read other reviews, some mentioning the lack of sweetness. While the smoothie is not sweet my understanding is acai bowls life is meant to be healthy alternatives not sweet tooth offerings; expecting sugary offerings would be similar a vegan expecting to be catered to at a steakhouse restaurant.
The lady that took my order did ask a few questions since I asked what she would recommend. AS soon as she provided her recommendation I decided on dragon fruit smoothie I realized the photos of the smoothie bowls looked quite tempting . Anyways I ordered and enjoyed my smoothie , it was not overly sweet as I had mentioned didn't want something too sweet to which dragin fruit was the recommendation so that was good. The flavor does taste natural as indicated; simply frozen fruits .
The only thing whether it is due to lack of experience or otherwise would use a bit more "Aloha" from greeting upon entering until departure. Aloha is genuine welcoming your customers and ridding oneself of any prejudices one may have to exemplify the true aloha spirit. Anyways, the location is nicely decorated it was $10 and change for a smoothie. While it may Seem a tad steep they use natural ingredients; it's Golden and we're in Colorado so somewhat to...
Read moreIf I could give this ZERO stars I honestly would. I will preface this review by saying that I know the service industry is hurting and I know when patience and understanding is needed. We stopped here on our road trip because I am a plant basted eater and it seemed like a pretty stop-and-go spot. I ordered our meals and they said they would text me when it was ready. I stood around and two other people by me looked impatient and finally went up to the counter to ask how long their wait time would be. They were both told 30+ minutes and immediately canceled their order due to lack of communication by the staff on exactly how long the wait would be. I also asked and they have me around the same time. I made sure it was OK with my husband and we agreed to wait. After multiple times checking in and getting super frustrated, they kept giving me times that were untrue. By the last time I checked in they handed me the wrong order AN HOUR AND A HALF later, if not more. I was extremely frustrated and the person next to me expressed their frustration with the wait time of their order. As friendly as the staff may appear they are very unprofessional and not up front about wait times. The food itself was mediocre as well and definitely not worth the wait time nor the cost. If I was more assertive I honestly would have asked for a refund and would 100% given my money and business to another food service. Edited to say that they say they texted me but never received any texts...
Read moreStumbled in here thinking it would be a quick stop to grab a smoothie, saw their pretty large menu and thought to add some avocado toast! We ordered two smoothies, two toasts and right as payment went through she says it'll actually Be about 25-30 min wait. Ok don't really have a choice at this point so we wait. And 45 min later I had to walk up to the front and ask for our food which they clearly didn't know who's was what because they had about 10 different meals waiting to be givin out. We watched them the entire time we waited and it was so chaotic. Where was the manager? Who was giving the guidance on who should be doing what? On top of that, is your practice to wear gloves or not? The amount of times I saw workers touching the food line without gloves was making me sick to my stomach I literally watched one of the workers touch their mouth and then the food line. Now the food- the workers couldn't even tell us what our smoothie was because it wasn't labeled and they're both green. Both smoothies tasted like just banana and a little green powder. We tossed our almost $10 smoothies out after just a few sips because they were so bland! The tiki toast was one piece of sourdough bread cut in half with a tiny bit of greens on top, almost $11! This meal was not worth the price or the 40+ minute wait nor the chance to get sick from all of the...
