Best Bites Mediterranean Restaurant & Grocery — Restaurant in Goldsboro

I've been really looking forward to this place expanding into food service & and I am very excited about having another Mediterranean restaurant in town.

The market has been here for years. It has now been wonderfuly updated.

Highlights: The Rice & tzatziki side was fantastic! Incredible flavor & perectly cooked. Portion sizes are generous. The restaurant is extremely clean. The staff are friendly & helpful. The market portion of the establishment is well stocked with a charming selection of hard to find ingredients & gifts.

Room for improvement: The flavor on the chicken shawarma wrap was... the best way I can put it is that it was a bit muddy. There were too many conflicting flavors. It was soggy with too much of whatever sauce was on it, so I couldn't taste the chicken. I doubt I'll order that item again. The tzatziki to rice ratio was off. The rice portion was generous with a tiny 2 ounce tzatziki. It differed from the photo I saw online & it wasn't enough to eat with the rice.

All in all, it was an excellent experience & even though their chicken shawarma wrap wasn't great, I'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu. I can't wait to...

Please please please go support this business. Holy cow the food is absolutely delicious. I have been wanting to try Best Bites for a few weeks now and I was finally able to. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and the hummus and pita for an appetizer. I was thinking that the hummus would be more of a side. I was SO wrong!! The amount of hummus was far more than I expected. Mo, the owner and chef, truly cooks from his heart and speaks with such passion about what he loves doing. He asked me if I would like for him to dress up the hummus and make it the way that he likes to eat it and I said “sure”! I can’t say enough about the spices, fresh herbs and bright delicious vegetables that he uses in his dishes. The shawarma was so flavorful. The spicy garlic sauce that they provided with it, I didn’t expect to use because of how much I enjoyed the hummus and I was really just going to use the hummus on the wrap. When I tasted the garlic sauce it didn’t even make sense how good it was. Stop it…I ate so much that I couldn’t even eat dinner. I regret nothing. Don’t skip this place....

I recently tried Best Bites, and it was amazing! I ordered the chicken shawarma platter with rice, and the flavors were fantastic. My husband got a chicken gyro platter with fries, which he also enjoyed. Side note: for the chicken shawarma, they put the chicken on top of the rice, so if you're not a fan of your food touching, you might want to ask for it to be served separately. When I got home, I realized my pita bread was missing, which I needed for dipping in my hummus. I called at 7:55 PM, right before they closed. The first person I spoke with mentioned that it sometimes comes with the order, which was a bit unclear since their menu states it comes with pita bread. However, I was then connected to the owner, who was super nice. He confirmed that all platters should include pita bread, and my husband was able to go back down after closing to pick it up. I highly recommend Best Bites for anyone looking for great Mediterranean cuisine! I will definitely be going back—and this time, I'll double-check my order (my...
