The sauces all tasted watered down and the meats were bland or tough and some tasted like they sat in water for a week. I think they may be trying to cut cost by adding water to their sauces and the taste and consistency suffers greatly. I sampled almost everything I could that wasn’t straight up American (pizza, wings, etc) and I nearly spit everything out. Too many selections were bland and watery and probably for the aforementioned reason. I did not try their sushi so I cannot review it. I was given unsweet tea instead of sweet and anyone who takes that first unsuspecting sip knows the shock and displeasure of the mixup.
The buffets surfaces looked clean and the utensils weren’t sticky on the handles so kudos for that. The floors were sticky enough that when we walked around the buffet, our steps made more noise than everything else around us. The booth and table tops I looked over seemed to be clean and my booth top was not sticky. The booth seat I sat in was lopsided and the vinyl covering was obviously well worn. I looked at other booths and you could see where they were stapling the vinyl back down. It was very noticeable and tacky. My dinner companion also had a lopsided booth. It is time for them to change cushions and order more seating. The Sweet N Low on our table was soggy feeling like it had been stored in a humid area (I was trying to remedy the unsweet tea situation). That was a first for me in a restaurant... soggy feeling sweetener packets.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was so quiet it was borderline creepy (during dinner hours!). You could occasionally hear the classical music perk up and then disappear. I’ve been in funeral homes with more life and comfort.
Quite frankly, the tab wasn’t worth $23 for two. They need to do some serious work on the seating, the atmosphere, especially the bland and soggy taste of the food... and when the customer brings the ticket, it’s rude to not speak to them and carry on a full convo with your coworker in another language.
When Hibachi opened, it was a great place, always busy, good atmosphere and flavorful food. Now it’s gone so far downhill that it’s amazing to me the place hasn’t closed up. They would do well to close the doors for a couple of months, renovate what needs fixing and revamp the food items’ consistency to the quality of when the establishment...
Read moreI find the food to be good but I also find that it is consistently not at around the edges and a little colder on top, but most of the time they keep it stirred. Most of the time the waitress doesn't do anything for me except bring me my utensils and my drink and I almost never need a refill. For those customers that are over their age requirement most often you have to ask for the senior discount or you won't get it, and sometimes you ask for it and still don't get it because it doesn't get passed on through their Chinese writing to the person at the register. They serve basically the same thing everyday, there's like no change ever except from lunch to dinner menu, but it's good enough for me to want to go back time after time. Plenty of parking. Their ladies room used to smell horrendous but it seems like they have done something that has improved that thank goodness because it'd make you want to barf. There's only a couple staff that understand English or want you to know they understand English because they won't talk to you they'll shake their head and look away, especially the ladies that bring out the fresh food and our mixing it with the old food I have never had one of them answer me when I asked a question. The temperature is the main complaint I have because it should stay warm enough from you going to the different stations getting your food till you get to the table to eat it. Even the soup sometimes where I just go get a bowl of soup and come right back to my table it's not hot so they are not consistent with food temperature and that's a pet peeve. Not really good sitting for those in wheelchairs because they're mostly booths and the chair would take up too much room in the walkway there is one area in the back behind the cashier that you could sit probably in a party by yourselves where the chair could still get up to the table or the end of the booth and not cause any problem. I haven't seen very many children eat there because it is fairly expensive for a child but they do go on occasion. There is a large selection of food to choose from. More than other Chinese buffets I have dined at and they have some American food, and that is what the children usually eat. But do you really want to go somewhere where you pay $15 or more for your child to eat what little bit they...
Read moreThe restaurant has been open now for awhile and so I decided to rate it. Today is fathers day 2009 and so you would expect them to be extra careful on the fresh food and cleanliness of the buffet. I was disappointed from the walk from the entrance to our table. The place was like an oven and the flies were about to carry us back outside. Our wait staff was none to happy to be there and it showed. She would grunt as she checked our drinks and for dirty plates to clear. I did make it thru the sub par food only to be knocked down when I went to pay my bill. The guy was waiting on the rest of our party as I was the last to pay whey I asked "if the $9.99 is the Fathers Day special, what would the reg. price be?" to which he replied "the reg. price is $8.99 and we are paying more because they had put more seafood out on buffet". I thought the lady next in line was going to have blood shoot out of her eyes in anger. We were speechless to say the least. It is one thing to have a so called special and lower the price. But to call it a special and raise the reg. price just because it is Fathers Day is beyond words! I told the guy checking me out that I did not eat anymore because of the holiday or because they had put more seafood out(I didn't see anything different about the food myself nor did the lady next in line she said.) The next time If there is a next time I plan to tell the GM of the place about his "special" and hoe much it will cost him in customers. If I do go back you can bet I WILL eat my weight in all the...
