Funky Fresh Cocktails — Restaurant in Goldsboro

I could say that we drove 600 miles for these donuts, but that’d be partially untrue. My mother-in-law had talked about Funky Fresh Donuts for weeks prior to our arrival. Naturally, we had to give it a try. She said, “Cronuts are the way of the future in the world of donuts.” There may have been some doubt, but I assure you now, that yes, they are the way of the future of donuts.

I will admit, too, that I don’t typically stop for donuts anywhere. However, this place not only made me a fan of the crunchy layered, vanilla (?) glazed goodness of Cronuts; it has brought back my faith in the HOT moist bite of the freshly made donut; topped with quality ingredients (please, please try the Apple Pie donut, you’ll love it).

Lastly, these folks are so friendly. Their bright personality really adds to the experience. I assure you, this’ll be a hotspot for our return to NC. They’ve the gift of true “Southern hospitality” and it’s refreshing like...

Used to be a big fan but it's been close to a year since I stopped by. Came in, three people ahead of me waiting to order. Kept waiting for someone to come out to the register, and they did after about 5 minutes of me being there to give someone else their order, take another, and then disappear again while they're making the order. Leaving one person waiting for their order, and two more of us waiting. I waited another 10 minutes before leaving without ordering.

I get that this is a small business and everything is made to order - but there are plenty of ways to speed this process up. Letting people use the ordering cards again, calling their name when their order is ready, and then having them pay. Don't make people wait just to order while you're prepping other orders. I'd happily wait 30mins if I knew y'all had my order. It's also much easier if you're short staffed to handle a bigger pool of orders than...

Update: Still as fantastic as ever! Finally tried the espresso bar. My partner said it was the best mocha he's ever had. And he's picky. I got the Jack Frost iced and it was so refreshing. My son wasn't happy with his Rudolph hot cocoa, it was a bit bland but the concept was cute. And all the new donuts were delicious. Always are. Especially that hot first bite when you get in the car and the glaze just oozes.

We tried a few of the donuts and all I can say is YUM! One of the best craft donuts I've ever had. The strawberry donut tasted like a shortcake thanks to the fresh berry on top. The blueberry-lemon made me miss summer time. And the chocolate pb was sweetly delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a cup of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. My favorite! We cannot wait to go back and try...
