Bateeni Mediterranean Cuisine offers an exceptional dining experience that brings the rich and vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean right to your table. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting ambiance makes you feel at home, with tasteful décor that reflects the Mediterranean’s relaxed and welcoming spirit.
The menu at Bateeni is diverse and packed with a variety of traditional Mediterranean dishes, each prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I started with the Mezze Platter, which was an absolute delight. It featured a selection of hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, and falafel—all bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The hummus, in particular, was creamy and well-seasoned, pairing perfectly with the warm, fluffy pita bread.
For the main course, I opted for the Lamb Shawarma, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The lamb was tender, juicy, and spiced to perfection, served with aromatic rice and a crisp salad. The portion size was generous, yet the dish was light enough to leave room for dessert.
Speaking of dessert, the Baklava at Bateeni is a must-try. It was perfectly sweet, with layers of flaky pastry and a rich, nutty filling that melted in my mouth. It was the ideal way to end the meal.
The service at Bateeni was also noteworthy. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.
Overall, Bateeni Mediterranean Cuisine excels in delivering authentic, flavorful dishes in a cozy, welcoming environment. Whether you're a fan of Mediterranean food or new to it, Bateeni is a restaurant that should not be missed. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreLove this place! So happy to have a place like this in Goldsboro!
I've been in four times since I discovered it a couple months ago.
So far I've tried the Beef Shawarma Plate, the Beteeni Sampler, the Kuftah Kabob Plate and the Chicken Sharwarma Pita. It's all really good!
I particularly enjoyed the Babo Ghanouj on the sampler. It has a wonderful smoky flavor. The hummus is top notch and the cabbage salad is fresh and delicious.
Service is great. The restaurant itself is setup like a deli so not the most comfortable place but clean and pleasant. I always get take-out.
UPDATE: Beteeni is still my favorite place to eat in Goldsboro, but I have found that their website is SUPER buggy. Items won't load into the cart, or only part of the order will go into cart, the automatic "send a code" function doesn't function, etc... Yesterday it took 20 minutes to order the food and then to my extreme embarrassment on the last time it kicked me out it defaulted to the Greenville location and there was no order waiting for me when I got to the restaurant.
The handsome young man and serious petite brunette behind the counter still took care of me and were extremely gracious despite my mistake.
The best part is that the food is SO good that it's worth the effort, and the wait ... if you've ever been in when they are busy.
I ordered the Beteeni Sampler and the Shwarma sandwich (all of it just for me.) It's a little pricey but not when you see the quality of the food and the portion size. My dinner was just under $36.77 which normally I wouldn't splurge on for a Tuesday night, but I'll have leftovers for a day or two.
One more thing, the falafel, when it's fresh... is the best...

Over all was pretty poor. No one seems happy in the restaurant. The only thing good was the lemonade.” - Rhonda Renee “Sosanna” Olson.
Tabouli is mainly going to be parsley that’s something that is used more that other things. It had bulgar wheat in it. Falafel should not have any heat. They aren’t supposed to be spicy. Hummus is literally ground garbanzo beans. Flavored hummus is an addition to the traditional hummus. People are probably hard working so maybe that’s why “no one seemed happy” everyone else’s reviews were great. Maybe you don’t know the culture nor understand the hard work that is put on people in this kind of service industry. I don’t work there but I hate when people simply do not understand and feel entitled. I had to take the time out for this cause the comments were ignorant cause clearly you don’t know about the culture. Anyway the place is great and great prices. This town definitely needed something different because there isn’t much variety here for people who don’t want fast food daily or basic restaurants. thanks for bringing more culture to...
