Love this place! So happy to have a place like this in Goldsboro! I've been in four times since I discovered it a couple months ago. So far I've tried the Beef Shawarma Plate, the Beteeni Sampler, the Kuftah Kabob Plate and the Chicken Sharwarma Pita. It's all really good! I particularly enjoyed the Babo Ghanouj on the sampler. It has a wonderful smoky flavor. The hummus is top notch and the cabbage salad is fresh and delicious. Service is great. The restaurant itself is setup like a deli so not the most comfortable place but clean and pleasant. I always get take-out. UPDATE: Beteeni is still my favorite place to eat in Goldsboro, but I have found that their website is SUPER buggy. Items won't load into the cart, or only part of the order will go into cart, the automatic "send a code" function doesn't function, etc... Yesterday it took 20 minutes to order the food and then to my extreme embarrassment on the last time it kicked me out it defaulted to the Greenville location and there was no order waiting for me when I got to the restaurant. The handsome young man and serious petite brunette behind the counter still took care of me and were extremely gracious despite my mistake. The best part is that the food is SO good that it's worth the effort, and the wait ... if you've ever been in when they are busy. I ordered the Beteeni Sampler and the Shwarma sandwich (all of it just for me.) It's a little pricey but not when you see the quality of the food and the portion size. My dinner was just under $36.77 which normally I wouldn't splurge on for a Tuesday night, but I'll have leftovers for a day or two. One more thing, the falafel, when it's fresh... is the best I'ver ever had!

Edit to my precious 5 star review: I dont know what happened since the last time I came... Went in at 5:30 today. Complete opposite experience of my first visit. A man behind the counter shouted "DOOR DASH?!" at me as soon as I walked in. Ordered the Chicken Schwarma, baba ghanoush and hummus. I was really craving the warm baba ghanoush I had enjoyed last time, but it was ICE COLD. When I asked about it, the guy working stared in confusion and said it was served cold like the hummus. Hmm. Ok. No big deal, I'll warm it up I guess. Got home and this is what I got... not sure if chicken schwarma is served with cold raw white onion also, but it was very unpleasant so I ate around it. Definitely not enough pita bread with the order. Rice and hummus were good but not worth going back. Glad I didn't bring anyone with me... Tried the sampler and it was great! Very fresh and bright flavors! The baklava dessert was delicious too. I will definitely bring family and friends to try more dishes.

Bateeni is my new favorite place to eat in town! I've already eaten there three times in the last month. So happy to have a restaurant of this quality in town! It definitely fills a gap in the Goldsboro market. Highlights: - Family run restaurant. - Everything I've had has been really good! - Food is very fresh & very flavorful. - The cabbage salad, hummus, tabouleh, stuffed grape leaves... it's all excellent! Other important information: - If you order online, be prepared to wait. The estimated pick-up time has been far too optimistic every time. This last time I had to wait for 15 minutes. - Online ordering is simplistic and you may do better to order in person and wait for the order. - Out of everything I've had, the Chicken Sharwarma Pita is the only thing that I would not order again. The construction was off... all the toppings were at the bottom and the pita was stale and crumbling. Once I deconstructed it and warmed up the pita at home, it was great.

Bateeni Mediterranean Cuisine offers an exceptional dining experience that brings the rich and vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean right to your table. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting ambiance makes you feel at home, with tasteful dĆ©cor that reflects the Mediterranean’s relaxed and welcoming spirit.

The menu at Bateeni is diverse and packed with a variety of traditional Mediterranean dishes, each prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I started with the Mezze Platter, which was an absolute delight. It featured a selection of hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, and falafel—all bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The hummus, in particular, was creamy and well-seasoned, pairing perfectly with the warm, fluffy pita bread.

For the main course, I opted for the Lamb Shawarma, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The lamb was tender, juicy, and spiced to perfection, served with aromatic rice and a crisp salad. The portion size was generous, yet the dish was light enough to leave room for dessert.

Speaking of dessert, the Baklava at Bateeni is a must-try. It was perfectly sweet, with layers of flaky pastry and a rich, nutty filling that melted in my mouth. It was the ideal way to end the meal.

The service at Bateeni was also noteworthy. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.

Overall, Bateeni Mediterranean Cuisine excels in delivering authentic, flavorful dishes in a cozy, welcoming environment. Whether you're a fan of Mediterranean food or new to it, Bateeni is a restaurant that should not be missed. I’m already looking forward to...

ā€œStopped in to try them out. Tabouli salad was parsley and onion and that was it. The falafel was bland, no heat and no flavor. The hummus wasn't flavored and was covered in oil. Over all was pretty poor. No one seems happy in the restaurant. The only thing good was the lemonade.ā€ - Rhonda Renee ā€œSosannaā€ Olson.

Tabouli is mainly going to be parsley that’s something that is used more that other things. It had bulgar wheat in it. Falafel should not have any heat. They aren’t supposed to be spicy. Hummus is literally ground garbanzo beans. Flavored hummus is an addition to the traditional hummus. People are probably hard working so maybe that’s why ā€œno one seemed happyā€ everyone else’s reviews were great. Maybe you don’t know the culture nor understand the hard work that is put on people in this kind of service industry. I don’t work there but I hate when people simply do not understand and feel entitled. I had to take the time out for this cause the comments were ignorant cause clearly you don’t know about the culture. Anyway the place is great and great prices. This town definitely needed something different because there isn’t much variety here for people who don’t want fast food daily or basic restaurants. thanks for bringing more culture to...
