Café Le Doux — Restaurant in Goldsboro

I came here yesterday with my dad and it was a wonderful little place! We plan to go back. The customer service was great. It was a bit loud but the woman at the counter didn't mind how many times I needed her to repeat herself. Super sweet and made the entire setting feel comforting, as a Café should be. I got a hazelnut coffee with caramel in it and it was delicious! Really well made and I was even more in awe of how beautiful the food options were. I got a mini strawberry cheesecake and the strawberries were amazing quality! I'd never heard of this place before so I didn't expect the quality they had. I will say the cheesecake seemed a tad overcooked for my taste, but that may also be because it was cold that it seemed tougher than it was. Plus I personally love a good soft cheesecake. Me and my husband and I visited today for the first time. He got a caramel iced latte that they blended for him with extra expresso. I personally ordered a whote expresso iced. To say the drinks were good was an understatement they were amazing, and the gentleman behind the counter really helped us make our decision based on what we generally liked. We also bought a nutterbutter sandwich that was buttery and not overly sweet, so it was also 5/5 amazing. We bought a tiramisu ( I haven't tried that yet), a lemon meringue tart that was also flaky buttery and the best meringue on top I've had since my grandmother passed. We purchased a pint of pimento cheese that is some of the best homemade pimento cheese I've had. We also purchased a Lorraine tart (breakfast tart with bacon parm onions). Been coming here since the month they opened and have gone at least twice a week only thing that broke my weekly streak was a blend of coffee I didn’t like as much as the others but the other drink options on the menu made nice place holders for my usual. Every pastry I’ve had has been amazing besides the Citron tart for its very strong lemon taste and rainbow Italian cookie/brownie thing that was to sweet for my liking but 28/30 different pastries I’ve tried being good is a good record. The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming (i do miss the original barista though the way he made drinks was my favorite)i only wish the view out the window was better.
