I don’t leave reviews at places unless it’s really bad or really good. Texas Roadhouse in Goldsboro has really gone downhill. I went a few months ago and told myself that would be the last time but last night my best friend wanted to go so I decided I’d try it again one more time. On a positive note, we were seated rather quickly considering how crowded it was, the rolls were good, and my grilled shrimp dish was good except for the brown colored veggies. But once we got to our table and waited for the guy to finish wiping it down we didn’t even get water from our waitress until about 15-20 minutes in. The table next to us said they still hadn’t got their salad because she forgot. She eventually ended up coming to our table and apologized for the wait and explained that it was because she was dealing with someone’s complaint which was fine and made us more understanding of the timing. But then even after that issue was resolved it was still taking forever. I ordered a Kenny’s Cooler drink and it was not filled how it normally is nor were there any cherries or orange slices which are supposed to come with it. I asked her if they just didn’t have any fruit and she said that they did and asked if I wanted her to bring some. Ummm yeah? I kinda paid for it…? Anyway, the drink tasted okay but obviously had very little if any alcohol in it so that was a disappointing waste of money. We got our food after almost an hour. My friend got a burger with the tiniest edge slice of tomato on it. Everything was just a joke. Surely they noticed these things. Fast forward to the morning after as I’m writing this review, we BOTH have a very sore throat. We haven’t been around each other for weeks before this dinner so I’m assuming something from here irritated our throats really bad. If an employee doesn’t know how to make something properly they should just ask for help. I had high hopes of a better experience and this was just not it. I only gave 2 stars instead of 1 because it did kinda seem like maybe they were short staffed and had a lot of new people. Our waitress was going back and forth from assisting us and training a girl. Tbh maybe if the staff wasn’t so overwhelmed with having to multitask and do the job of 3 people at once maybe it would’ve been better but idk that’s just my thought from the...
Read moreWe dined here on Sunday evening 7/14/24. We chose this restaurant because Texas Roadhouse is usually consistently good anywhere. Absolutely not true at this restaurant. We called ahead for a table of 8 including two high chairs. When we arrived they asked us to give them a minute to set it up and after about 5 minutes they take us to a table with six seats and no high chairs. We stand in the middle of the restaurant while they go find high chairs and correct the table. We then waited approximately 15 minutes for a server to appear and take our drink and appetizer order. Another 12 minutes passed before we received our drinks. Followed a few minutes later by cheese fries with no bacon. The lady that delivered the fries says oh those are supposed to have bacon and returned with a cup of bacon to fix that. The server eventually returned to take our order and after an hour we received all but one of our salads. The remaining salad came after our entrees arrived. It was an hour and 15 minutes from the time we were seated with two small toddlers until we received our food. They forgot the kids meals completely. The steaks were cold and two of our party had meat that tasted weird. Kids meals finally came later. We had to repeatedly ask for drink refills before they ever came. At this point we asked for the manager who was less than helpful. As it was past closing time his response was you don’t want us to remake the meals do you, I can give you a discount. He said he would be right back with our ticket. He never returned, some of our party took the kids to the car and told him to please bring the check. They offered a 30% discount on the whole check. We paid the bill and left but he should have done better . Most of the meal was inedible and the kids didn’t even get to eat much as they were just done with the experience at the two hour mark. This location is a horrible representation for Texas Roadhouse. Every table around us had some problem either with food or lack of service. Everyone was complaining. We will not return to this location in the future. The lack of management both in front and back of house is very obvious. Save yourself the disappointment and choose another...
Read moreWe walk in the door and a couple ahead of us and we were all basically told they could not seat us. It was right at 5:30 so they wanted to make sure we didn't try to get the early bird special. Once we get seated 15mins later we are brought plates that were dirty. The table was still dirty because they used napkins to wipe them down after someone leaves. Once we get our drinks it took the waitress almost 15mins to come back to take our order. My wife ordered a burger with only cheese. They bring it out and it has lettuce, tomatoes, onions on the burger and a pickle on the plate. My wife makes sure anytime we order at a place they hear us say that she doesn't want it. The waitress should have looked at it and said this is wrong before bringing it out to the table. The burger also was dry and flavorless. I ordered a steak and it was hard for the people that give you a ticket for when you pick out a steak to figure out what to do. I picked my steak out and asked for it to be medium rare and it comes out more medium than it did medium rare. The steak also was very very chewy. The loaded sweet potato comes out not fully cooked. You should not have to use a knife to cut it. It should be very easy with a fork. The waitress forgot that sweet potato. After she brought it out we never saw her again. She check all of her other tables but not us. We tried to stop others to help but no one would pay us any mind. When she did come over she didn't ask how everything was or ask if we wanted desert. I told her about our issues and she was like ok let me get your check. I asked to speak to a manager and the manager offered to make me a new steak and I told her no because we were from out of town and it would have would have been another 30mins until I would get another steak. She took $15 off the bill even though I only ate 3 bites of my steak. Won't be back to this...
