I just had the most MINDBLOWING experience at Popeyes, off Hwy 30 in Gonzales next to Tanger Outlet. I went through the drive thru, placed my two orders, paid, and was told to pull up. There was another customer in front of me. She looked like she was getting antsy. She got out of her truck and went inside and walked back out with he food. So I figured I'd do the same because apparently, they were overwhelmed inside. I work in customer service, so I know things happen. I went inside to the counter, I was immediately greeted by a very enthusiastic young man who was ready to take my order. I told him I had already ordered, I went through the drive thru, and I was waiting on my food. I was asked to confirm what I ordered by the person working the drive thru, and I did. She told me they were waiting on biscuit, so I waited. The cook then told me it would be 26 on the ripping chicken. That's great, but that is not what I ordered, I thought to myself. Then the woman who was working yelled, "That's not even what she ordered." I waited patiently as the biscuits were made, and then I was told they were now waiting on tenders. I was offered a drink for waiting so long. Then it started getting busy, so 2 people started working the drivethru, I'm guessing they were trying to tackle the line outside. Things were running seamlessly until the person taking the money handed someone the wrong meal. They started arguing in the standing in the drivethru window, screaming and yelling at each other. One calling the other an idiot. The cook asked for one to hand him the trays for the tenders. She basically slung it. Had she used any more force, it would have hit the floor. She only gave him one tray, and because they were bickering, they could hear him, so he began to shout, trying to get someone's attention. There was so much tension that I was very uncomfortable as I was the other guest. The cook tried asking them to keep stop arguing in front of customers. He told them they needed to keep it down. Trying to keep the piece came out of the kitchen, he walked over me to the drive-thru window and told the customer to pull up. That means there was someone there in the drive-thru window witnessing all the arguing. How disgraceful! Well I thought it was over, but nope, they started to yelling at cook because the person he told to pull forward in the drive-thru line had not yet paid, she then proceeded to call him @%*$ing stupid. The guest who was dining in asked for the manager, the cook point to the towards the window where the 2 people who were arguing stood. So undoubtedly, one of these unfit individuals was manager. At this point, I wanted to ask for a refund and leave, but I ordered someone else's lunch as well, so I couldn't just leave. From beginning to end, I was there for over 30 minutes, and there is no reason for that. Then, to top it all off, they got one of the orders wrong, and it was cold. I have never experienced anything like this in life. I will never ever go...

I normally don’t leave reviews, but after my experience at this Popeyes location, I felt it was necessary. The quality of food, lack of service, and disregard for customer satisfaction were extremely disappointing.
The lobby was closed well before the posted hours, and staff were only allowing mobile orders — even though the restaurant appeared to be open. There was no signage or explanation, and I wasn’t the only customer confused or frustrated. Others around me shared the same concerns.
After checking the online reviews, I noticed I’m not alone. Many people have reported the same problems repeatedly — from poor customer service to inconsistent food quality and early closures. What’s frustrating is that the owner reads and responds to these reviews, promising change, but nothing ever actually improves. What’s worse, the food didn't meet my expectations was so bad that I didn’t even eat the food I purchased.
At this point, it feels like lip service rather than real accountability. I hope this review helps others know what to expect, and I sincerely hope management finally takes meaningful steps to fix...

Update Thursday 10:25am: spicy chicken sandwich is "not available at this moment"
Tuesday 11:30am: I never learn my lesson, but sometimes i want that's spicy chicken sandwich. The sandwich was delicious. The 30 minute wait to get through the drive-thru, pull forward toa parking spot to wait for the food, then have it delivered to the car next to me first, and then to me was a bit frustrating. But i sat there in my vehicle and took it, because i didn't want to have to merge back with traffic to go someplace that has more of the fast-food speed i prefer.
This has been a typical experience for this...
