Stopped in on our way to Destin. When we walked in to check-in we were promptly greeted by the front desk clerk who was very nice and welcoming.
She was dealing with local police because of a guest that didn’t want to vacate her room, but they were very professional about the situation and apologized for any inconvenience.
I explained to the front desk clerk that we were traveling with a baby and she offered to bring us a pack and play, which was nice.
We got to the room and it was spacious and clean. It worked really well for us, especially since it was our first time traveling with our baby.
The only criticism I had was to the shower curtain. I didn’t realize that the shower head was favoring the outside of the tub, which had a shower curtain that wasn’t made to hold back the water, but instead spilled the shower water on the floor. I corrected it and luckily we had plenty of towels to clean it up.
The next morning I decided to go to the workout room and was pleased to see that they had a couple of treadmills. The one that I used did the job. They also had dumbbells and a bench. It looked like the cycling machine wasn’t working, but that wasn’t an issue since I just planned on jogging.
I came out of the workout and was welcomed by the same of the free breakfast and coffee. I was already running a little behind so I didn’t stick around to try it, but there were several people partaking.
Overall, it was a good stay and I’d stay...
Read moreI have stayed in many Hilton branded hotels over the years and never had any issues. Because of this, I thought I’d made a safe decision in choosing this hotel for my recent stay in Gonzales.||Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the staff were rude and uninterested in talking to guests. This theme remained throughout my stay. As soon as we went upstairs, we noticed a musty smell in the room. I was stayed on a sofa bed, and I noticed that the sofa seemed worn. When I pulled it out the mattress was incredibly thin and worn. I went downstairs to ask for help, but the person serving on the front desk was not interested in helping and did not care. As a result, I did not sleep for two nights and ended up with a sore back for the rest of my vacation. ||Breakfast was also lacklustre without much choice (especially for vegetarians). We again noticed staff were disinterested and unhelpful. Each morning many staff would gather around the front desk playing on their personal cell phones and not interacting with guests. ||We mentioned our disappointment when checking out, and nothing was really said other than maintenance would look at the sofa bed. I expect far more from a Hilton hotel and would never consider staying at this hotel again. It was a...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that we’re in the middle of a pandemic, so cleanliness is everything! However, it’s just as important to “regroup” and get out of your home to socialize and experience a different scenery especially being a nurse and having the unfortunate responsibility of taking care of patients in their last days. After noticing several things unclean I called to the desk and brought it to Manager, Holly’s attention. She proceeded to tell me she was understaff and the cleaning crew would not be in until 9. I even offered to clean the room myself! To avoid having this conversation I proceed downstairs to speak to the manager directly and she was very dismissive, condescending and lacked empathy. Instead of offering me another room or taking care of the issues herself, she threatened to call the cops and and went on to say if I was nicer to her she “might” give me another room. Not one time to I use profanity at her, get in her space, or threaten her! I can’t help but feel if I looked different her attitude with me would have been a lot different. Home2 Suites in Gonzales will never see myself or my family again as long as Holy aka Karen is...
