I must start by saying that I was really looking forward to trying this new location of Babbo’s. Although, I was extremely disappointed with the overall taste of the food. For the appetizer we order the shrimp and crab artichoke dip. My wife and I came to celebrate a special occasion but wished we would have gone across the street to Olive Garden or Oregano’s instead. To start, I believe the cook forgot the simple rule of a dip, which it needs to be thick enough to scoop it with a slice of bread instead of having to slurp it with a straw. I did not wish to complain hoping the meal would improve once the main course arrived. Boy was I wrong. My wife ordered he chicken chipotle pasta, the kids the mini pizza and I ordered the garlic chicken pasta. My wife’s pasta was soup, watery, and bland. The sauce was not reduced even a tiny bit and caused her to have to dump a ton of salt in order to have it taste like anything. The kid’s pizza was flimsy and white from underneath. The Garlic Chicken was decent which leads me to question why the inconsistency? The Service was sub-par with teenage servers who were not attentive throughout the meal and had to repeatedly look for someone to re-fill my drink as well as ask for additional dinks. We were crammed into what felt like a table for 2 people with two adults two kids. It could have been ok if not because our plates were never removed from our table. We ended up having to maneuver our entire meal by moving plates around the table to eat comfortably. I hope this new location of Babbo’s get’s it together and begins with consistent service and food. We might give them a second chance in the next couple of months when we hope they’ve improved on their consistency. Hopefully they don’t...
Read moreWent when it wasn’t busy at all. Service was fast and they checked on us regularly but not too much. That was the bright point. We got the Hot Honey Crispy Chicken “sandwich”, a pizza, Pomodoro Tomatoes, and Chicken Limone. Pizza tasted good but the middle was totally underdone and all the topping slid off too easily. Pomodoro Tomatoes Tasted like canned cold tomatoes with some “fresh” mozzarella, evoo and basil. Honestly it was terrible, no seasoning on it, ice cold, and like I said tasted like canned stewed tomatoes that were rinsed and chilled. Hot Honey Crispy Chicken “sandwich” Was weird, I should have looked at what the bread vessel was but I got over it. Very small amount of chicken, taste and texture was consistent with frozen breaded tenders, very little hot honey and ricotta. Very disappointing. Chicken Limone was the biggest disappointment. The noodles felt and tasted like they were microwaved or a second drop, didn’t have the fresh cooked pasta taste and feel. Sauce was lacking and there wasn’t enough to coat the noodles, and the chicken was tiny, touch and tasted reheated and like canned chicken. Just a super underwhelming and under seasoned/flavored dish, My wife and I had tried to get in here a few times but the wait was too long, and we really looked forward to trying it. But all and all I think for the price Olive Garden is money better spent. There are way too many better restaurants in the area that’s have better Italian food...
Read moreFriday night (expected a wait). Told its 45-50 minutes (not a problem- it’s expected). 60+ minutes later 4 more groups still ahead of us. There is plenty of seating, the bar is open, booths, a entire second dining room and a catering lounge.
Went to the bar to try to order something, the two bartenders didn’t even want to acknowledge that we were there or other customers. They just weren’t helping anyone.
Magically our table is ready. We go sit down. We do not see our waitress for almost 10 minutes. When she shows up we tell her we are ready to order everything because we are starving. Then she kicks in the attitude. She’s displeased we are hungry I guess.
I can’t order a cappuccino because she isn’t sure the machine is working. I get a coffee and water. We order our food. It takes almost 15 minutes to get drinks and bread. The coffee is luke warm and we have to ask for napkins.
Salads show up— we have to ask the busboy for utensils. Then the food shows up.
The food and menu aren’t bad. They have good healthy options and it was flavorful. But man, if your staff isn’t being courteous and attentive— you’re going to lose service.
It all comes down to management. If the management isn’t on top of their staff— forget it.
Give it try- I hope your experience is better than ours. Maybe we had a bad night. I’d like to try it again, but not until they get more staff and get serious about...
