Was excited to try this since my neighbors were excited about the new Buckeye location, and I like noodles, but have never had pho. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the meal and not even eager to save the leftovers. I’m doing that thing where you think about the starving children and that I should probably see through my investment, no matter how small. Maybe more important here is not to put good money after bad money.
So, first, the fun: Ordered at 4:07 and just got my food at 4:30. That took “pho” ever! (could not resist the pun, which works as pho or pho— see what I did there?)
Pros: Ordered a simple chicken pho to go, which is a good portion for under 9.00 after tax but before tip. They gave me a nice glass of ice water and lime wedge and were happy to chat it up between customers while I waited. The broth is not pictured, but the server/expediter explained that when you get home or wherever and are ready to eat, just heat the broth up as hot as possible in the microwave (you will soon learn why) and then toss in all the side fixings. NOTE: If taking it home, you will need a bowl large enough to hold the broth and all of the fixings. If you use the styrofoam cup they provide, broth will flow over.
Cons: I had to wait 30 mins for a walk-in to go. The food looked good upon receipt, but this being my first time, I did not know that all the sides were cold. Only the broth was hot, so not sure why it took 30 mins to prepare? The server/expeditor could probably have assembled that for me in a few minutes.
Also, the food was pretty bad. The chicken was not only chilled but had that days old refrigerated chicken or turkey taste to it. I think that happens when it’s stored uncovered. I haven’t tasted days old chicken like that in years. My day-old chicken doesn’t even taste like that anymore. It makes me a little angry, that it tasted like because it’s a sign of low quality.
So, yeah, the people were nice, and the ice water was good, but the damn 30 min wait for chilled food and hot broth isn’t making sense. And the chicken was not fresh, so now I have that taste in my mouth.
I wondered if I might try a different pho, but based on the old chicken feel that I have a sense for what the other meats will taste like.
I think that I would have been better off trying to make pho myself, but right now, I just feel like my dinner ruined my dinner...pho sure.
Summary: 30 min wait for refrigerated food, food looks good but...
Read moreI do not like to review but this just bugs me. If I could give 0 stars, i would! My husband and I went to this PT pho to see if the one closest to out home would be just as good as Litchfield and McDowell. DO NOT go here. We came in at 5:55pm, was told there was a 10-15 minute wait, even with 3 clear tables open. We waited for 30 minutes to be seated. The staff is young and friendly but very unorganized, so I was giving them grace. We get seated, waste no time and order as soon as we are seated. We wait 15 minutes, I check on our food and it's another 15. We check again and the waiter asks the kitchen where our food is cause we have been here an hour. They said they didn't even print the ticket. We wait some more and I ask for a supervisor. I don't know what her name was, but she was very unprofessional. I told her we have been waiting and hour and only got drinks. She said, oh okay well let me check your food. She comes back to the table and says that it's not ready and I ask why not? Since we've been here an hour? She said, well we were really busy and it just died down. I saw that, since I've been here am hour! I asked if our food was even being made, and she said no, that she didn't even know who our waiter was and that our ticket was only printed 5 minutes ago. That was that We wasted an hour and only saw soda.... we did not even try to stay. The lack of customer importance was appalling. She did not apologize for the wait, did not offer a discount or to comp our food. Will never go back there. Stick to the Litchfield and...
Read moreMy family decided to eat here because my teenage son LOVES noodles. The restaurant is located within a relatively small suite in a strip mall. We had never tried PT Noodles but we have eaten Vietnamese food a few times before. There were only a handful of tables inside but there was no wait. We were seated right away but I think most people probably take out. My son and I ordered Pho noodle bowls and my wife ordered fried rice. Service was quick and the server was pleasant. She was back within a few minutes with a plate of fresh bean sprouts, basil and jalapenos. Maybe five minutes later the food arrived. All of the veggies seemed very fresh and cooked nicely. The noodles were perfectly done and a joy to eat as well. None of us could finish off our respective dishes, so we gladly doggie bagged it for later. The price was about $8-10 per noodle bowl. Well worth it imho. The only thing that would have made it ever better experience would be if there was a little bit more room for seating and some better ambiance. The food and price we're a big hit though and I would recommend this site to anyone who loves noodles or...
