I have been going to Black Angus this this one here in Phoenix on McDowell for many years haven't recently due to illness. It was my daughter's birthday and mine so I decided we'd go. When I called for reservation I was told I couldn't eat in the bar area the bartender's didn't serve there and I asked was that area closed. He said no the bartenders just don't serve but we'll move you close to that area. I said okay. So when we got there the dining area in the bar was open. So I asked them why I couldn't go in there and the girls looked at me rather mystified like they didn't know and I told them what the manager told me they were speechless so the manager came over and I told the manager what the gentleman on the phone told me. I said I and my family would like to eat in there please and he started to say something but went off toward the dinning room. He managed clean a table we had to wait another 15 minutes. we sat down finally at 8pm. waitress came and asked if we wanted something to drink and we ordered cocktails which took 30 minutes. Then she returned to see if we were ready and I said 5 minutes please, another 20 minutes went by she finally came got our order. I ordered steak and then I ordered a lobster for myself and my daughter and the waitress said oh I'll charge you $19 for two instead of $10 a piece so I saved a dollar. I kept looking for my waitress for our food. I couldn't find her it seemed like it took hours for food to come. I ask to speak to the manager, he never came. My baked potatoe was cold, my steak was warm my daughter's steak had so much fat in it she couldn't eat it and the lobsters were cold. I gave them back. My daughter had them recook the broccoli 3 times because it wasn't cooked enough and the cheese wasn't melted, and when she took a bite it was tough over cooked in the microwave. I finally spoke to the manager told him this was terrible and never experienced anything like this and the waitress took way too long to bring her food. We got to the table at 7:45 and our dinner didn't come until like quarter two nine. The bar had emptied there was only one more couple and the dining area they were getting ready to kind of close up so he discounted my dinner and my daughter's dinner. I paid for my son-in-law's dinner, three drinks and my bill was $66.21 and they didn't take off my daughter's drink because we had sent it back and got a Pepsi. I told the manager I wouldn't be back and I couldn't believe the changes. They used to have a wonderful dinner salad but they brought this little dinky salad out what was loaded mostly with cabbage and I had asked her not to put dressing on it cuz I was going to take it home and needless to say she put dressing on it I wasn't able to take it home. He told me she was one of the best waitresses he had and I said you better look again. Way over priced for the quality...
Read moreDisappointed we were charged 5 TIMES, yes 5 TIMES on my husband's Credit Card as well as my dads Credit Card for our Christmas Eve meal together..My elderly parents wanted to pay for our meal so waitress took their credit card and ran it 7 times...they were charged and approved 2 times for payment...then card declined. Then waitress asked for another card bc she said my parents card didn't go through (although it already had twice)..ok no problem, use our credit card...waitress ran it 3 times and all were approved but she said it was declined. Then she said it must be Black Angus system...and yes, i know i had more than enough on my credit card to cover so...something wrong with their system.Luckily, we have credit card fraud notification. Both my parents and my husband realized we were charged 5 times for our $224 meal after we left..thank gosh for CC notifications and me being a stickler for finances/receipts! Went back to manager, and he said to call corporate on Monday. Mind you, I understand you are busy and possibly short staffed, we are patient and kind and totally get it, but Mr Black Angus Manager, you were so nonchalant about it and could seem to careless your company took almost $1000 for a $224 dinner bill...and mind you, my daughter never received her drink ordered from the bar, the lady with short blonde hair who sat us asked us to please hurry up as they had more big parties to seat and they kept trying to serve my daughter the wrong meal (3 times). Just a reminder, you get more with honey than you do with Vinegar and I really hope the credit cards get situated correctly and quickly...but professionalism isn't this Black Angus Restaurants forte for sure! Oh and PS, we did leave a VERY large cash tip for your servers regardless of the situation we experienced...it was Christmas Eve after all. (But I will tell you. It was left due to the Holiday, not due to our experience)
EDIT: I have sent an email to GuestRelations, my husband has called the general manager and we are now showing 1 charge on hubby's credit card yet my father is still showing a charge on his credit card and Black Angus says they have no receipt for it... So, we are now paying $448 for a $224 meal for 6 and this is almost a week later. No apologies, no remorse...such a shame as we've been Black Angus Customers...
Read moreWe went to B.A. to celebrate my daughter and son-in-law's Anniversary. We had reservations for 4 and then needed to change to 5. This was done beautifully. We got there and on the table were balloons on the cowbell. So fun and they enjoyed that very much. Our server, Faith was phenomenal from the beginning. She greeted with a smile and was very attentive. The bread was great as usual. She brought the drinks quickly and we were ready to order. The food came out quickly, except mine was the wrong steak. She had me keep the side dishes while they corrected my steak. I didn't want to eat my sides until my steak came out. All 4 of the others were done before my order came out. Apparently the back of house "supervisor" came out as our server brought it to the table and kept saying for me to cut into to the steak like I had complained about how I wanted it cooked (I never complained about the cook which I had ordered medium rare.) I hadn't even checked the first one because I new it was not the type of steak I had ordered and could not have even checked(the server was so apologetic about that.) I thought he was coming out to apologize but he did not. Instead he was extremely rude and condescending. Faith brought me new side dishes as my other ones were cold. She again apologized for the wrong steak. I then did my usual prep of my side dishes, butter and sour cream on my baked potato, and then cut into my steak. The end seemed a little more rear than I would want, but I was hungry and the others were done so I just cut into it and to say it was raw was an understatement. It was so raw it was blue. I really could not eat it. The rest of the table were shocked at how raw it was. When Faith came back to check on us. I showed her and I could tell she was embarrassed. She took it back and came back and then it was perfect. I ended up taking my steak home. But my side dishes were yummy. We then ordered dessert and that was very good. She said she would just mention to the front of house Supervisor. She not only comped our desserts, but the Supervisor came by and she apologized for our experience. She was what a real Supervisor should be. So to recap the front of house was amazing, but the back of house left something to be desired. We will come back for the atmosphere and...
