I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Little Caesars, even though it's like the Taco Bell of the carryout pizza world. Trying to predict the quality of your local Little Caesars location and food is an exercising in gambling. Oftentimes the service is poor and, in my experience at least, the cheese on the pizza is nearly always one step away from being burned.
This was my first visit to the Granbury, TX, location. I stopped by with my kids so that we could pick up a couple of pies for dinner. Here are my takeaways:
STORE QUALITY. Clean, tidy, and all the equipment—POS machines, menu screens, coolers—seemed to be working. No chairs, unfortunately. But this might be overlooked since it's a small store.
SERVICE. This was the highlight of the visit. The gentlemen who greeted us and took my order was exceptionally friendly and conscientious. Immediately after taking my order, he asked me if it would be all right if he gave my kids some complimentary cookies. (I didn't even know LC had cookies! Shortbread, I think. And they were pretty decent.) He then went into the backroom and returned with a portable box fan, which he placed next to the counter, saying that while it was hot in the kitchen, he wanted us to be comfortable while we waited for our pizza.
TIMELINESS. Our two pizzas and Crazy Bread sticks were ready in about 12-15 minutes. Having visited numerous Little Caesars in different states, this is an average wait time for me. However, by the time I received my order three other customers had arrived. It took the LC staff a little longer each time to tend to these customers, and by the time a fourth customer arrived, she was left unattended for nearly five minutes. The friendliness of the service remained excellent, but clearly the store's staffing level was unable to accommodate a handful of customers.
FOOD QUALITY. Subpar. It pains me to say it because I had such a great experience with the staff. I nearly always order a plain cheese pie with extra cheese. In my opinion, a good extra-cheese plain-cheese pizza is one in which the cheese is thickly applied and mostly white. I ordered two of these during my visit. Both pizzas did not have extra cheese, and the cheese itself was overcooked (i.e., more dark brown spots than whiteness). I was disappointed, but as I said earlier, this is par for the course with Little Caesars. The trick for frequent LC customers like me is to determine the best time to order a pizza that will yield the highest likelihood of getting a solid extra-cheese pizza. It is possible at some locations. I hope that proves to be the case at this one, because I genuinely appreciate good customer service—and these guys were great.
CONCLUSION. This is a clean and friendly location. Wait times quickly increase due to too few staff. Pizza quality is, unfortunately, typical for a Little Caesars restaurant. I plan on visiting again in the future, trying out different days and times to see if I can find the right moment to maximize my chance of getting a solid extra-cheese pizza.
UPDATE I have increased the Food Quality rating from 2 to 3 stars, having made two additional visits to this restaurant. On the most recent visit, I ordered cheese pizzas with extra cheese. The slices were nice and thick, and the cheese was much whiter than my first visit. Compared with other pizza restaurants a 3-star rating is a good rating for Little Caesars. It means I can visit this restaurant and expect a pizza that is cost-effective but tasty enough to leave me satisfied. I have also increased my overall rating from 3 to 4 stars because the customer service here continues to be top-notch. Keep...

Okay now I have two pizza chains I will not go to. Domino pizza and this one. LC charges for parm now as well.
You have to think about this people. I mean vision yourself going into McDonald's and ordering fries, when you ask for ketchup they state okay it will be .20 cents a pack. Just does not feel right does it?
I think not all domino won't give parm. The ones in the DFW metroplex do not, at least all of Fort Worth area and surrounding it. They charge almost two bucks for a very small bottle. Little Caesar's charges a little over 1.00 for the about the same amount of parm.
Honestly we should expect to pay for what we need but condiments should come with it. Little Caesar's I would rather you go up .20 to .50 cents on your menu and offer Parm than to charge for a condiment. I hope you never start serving burgers, I couldn't afford the mayo.
The store was packed today about 5 pm or so. I am very impressed though. They got hit hard and worked through it as a team. I do not think I waited but 25 minutes but it seemed longer since we were all crowded together.
I know people don't want to wait that long but I am just saying I was impressed how they kept working hard and as fast as they could. I would figure they were probably shorthanded.
And get rid of that canned imitation cheese you put on the pretzel pizza. Gross.
The young lady at the counter did a great job of keeping up and when no orders were being taken she ran to the back to help them. Great job Little Caesars, and trust me I don't give...
Read moreThe staff hardly spoke to me they didn't tell me that there was going to be a long wait for my pizza they didn't tell me that there wasn't any available or how long the wait would be it was really annoying and I probably will try other pizza restaurants next time because I can't stand horrible customer service and not even speaking to me it didn't make sense I didn't like it I understand people get busy but they need to communicate what the customers. I don't really like their system for walking customers because now we're at the bottom of the list if you're just a walk-in customer you're treating it like a second class customer everyone else is coming in and getting their orders you see pizzas coming out but they're for other orders they don't have any available in the fresh container like they used to where you could just go on and buy a pizza because they had several fresh ones available now that doesn't exist and it's really annoying to me I don't want to have to call in or go online to place an order every time I want to go to Little Caesars I want to go in pay 10 bucks and walk out 5 minutes later that's the best thing about them and they've lost it I can get a better pizza 5 different places in town but what I liked about Little Caesars is that I could go in and be out in 5 or 10 minutes and spend 10 bucks...
