Five Guys — Restaurant in Grand Forks

When you read about this being the highest rated burger chain in the nation, you expect a burger that's going to blow your mind. Its sadly underwhelming. At least you expect a better burger for the price. It sort of tastes like if you were to go to a friend's grill out party, but it's their very first time making burgers. They kind of got it down, but forgot to season the meat and the finished product is wildly assembled, squishy and -for some odd reason- pressed down. I might add, though, l do love that they assembled my burger with the fixins beneath the patty(s). Thumbs way up. I don't know if that's what they usually do, but I secretly hope so. The fries, although fresh, are not your typical chain-style french fry...which can be a good thing, depending on what side of the fence you're on. If you like the natural cut, skin-on and greasy approach then these are your ticket to happiness. If you're expecting crispy, steamy traditional style shoestrings that seem to shed the grease and hold the salt, then you will be sorely disappointed. I can only eat a few Five Guys fries before I'm kind of overwhelmed with grease. I could eat McD's fries for hours and not get sick of them. However, when you ask for fries at 5Guys, they seem to assume that you'll be feeding yourself + 30 others because the bag is erupting with an abundance of spuds...which is...

I've never been disappointed with the food at 5 guys, but today something caused a major wait for my food. When I walked in there was a big crowd of people (not one big group, maybe 6 "groups" some singles, couples and families) waiting for their orders. There were 3 employees that I saw working, one mother and daughter waiting in front of me to order. One employee was making shakes, one grilling burgers, prepping buns, and one making fry's and assembling burgers. It was a good 7 minutes before the mother/daughter ordered, then I ordered. 25 minutes later, my order was ready. In that time more people came in to order, a few door dash pick ups, and I guess some call in orders as some names were called, but nobody was there to pick up those orders. I also did see 2 more employees come from out if the back area, they seemed to be focusing on fry prep. I did not see any employees cleaning tables, but honestly, they didn't have time to stop and do that. Maybe they could put a few more patties on the grill to start cooking , but that could lead to...

I have eaten at this restaurant before, it was good then. I don't know what is going on but they have fell far. When I received my food the bag from uber it was so saggy with grease it fell apart. The burger was wrapped very poorly the bun was showing. I took one bite of the burger it very distasteful and very poorly presented like they're intention was to serve grill grease." It would have made it better to just have had it blended then deal with the sludge I was given, might have made it tolerable." With the quality I was given health and cleanliness should be questioned. I will no longer be ordering from this five guys. #qualitycontrol...
