This veterans memorial park is beautiful, has a peaceful and honoring energy, has a nice technological touch with a large touch screen that shows you the names on the walk of honor, donors, the granite and wooden benches. Names are searchable. The pillars of the various branches of the military are towering, graceful, and statuesque. The park has well kept grass, nicely kept grounds, a litter free walking path to honor those who served and sacrificed, and it leads to another park with a paved walk that you can enjoy with bunnies ๐ฐ squirrels ๐ฟ and crows ๐ฆ . I found the benches and picnic tables to be well kept and inviting to enjoy friends and family while thanking those who served with the Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard. Another amazing perk is the very clean and modern bathroom inside the building that contains the flatscreen of names. Thereโs also a display and interactive part for letters by community members and some historical pictures relevant to Grand Forks, ND. This is my favorite park in Grand Forks. So many things one can do while here and especially to appreciate and reflect on all the brave and selfless souls. Thank you to all those who made...
ย ย ย Read moreVery pleased to see this green space along the greenway trails utilized with the brand new situationally spaced covered seating pavilions with access to infrastructure connectors. In memoriam to Military, Federal, and Civilian lives selflessly lost, a proper monument of focus now centers the space with sidewalks branching to the greenway and parking lot as well as a repurposed naval ship anchor. The lighted and climate controlled restroom facility is locked every time you'll need it as is every Grand Forks Park restroom! If anybody happens to know why Grand Forks parks tend not to make available the restroom facilities, please shed light! It would be a devastatingly horrible depiction to find out it's a matter of keeping homeless populations away from the parks as the majority of homeless are veterans without proper mental health management and Lord forbid a homeless person trying to better their lives use a public facility to brush their teeth or clean...

I'm an Iraq war veteran so, these things mean a lot to me (as they do for many others) You did an incredible job , Grand Forks....
