Had an awful experience in the drive thru a couple years ago and never intended to go back. Took my chances today with my family dining in. I officially will not be visiting this place again.
Service was slow. Drink machine options were less than 5 with a machine that offers far more when properly supplied. Got a dumb look from an employee when I told her I was waiting for my order. This was because she had just given my order to someone else. She then implied that I should go ask the other customer for my food but was saved from outright saying it by the other customer bringing it back. Customer apologized for the mistake but employee did not.
Took the order and found it was missing the biscuits. Had to ask for those. No apology. Discovered we had 4 sandwiches instead of 3 so checked the receipt and found that even though we ordered 3 meal combos we had been charged for 4. When I attempted to talk to the cashier about it I was ignored for 5+ minutes along with two other patrons waiting. When she finally acknowledged me she said she had to get another worker. They offered to fill the fourth combo order or refund the money. Not once did they apologize for any of the mistakes.
Only bright spot was the food. Popeye's makes delicious food. However, this place has a serious service problem that not even the food can counter. Plenty of better options in...
Read morePopeye's is a decent substitute for actual Cajun food. I have enjoyed them for years and was excited when one opened in the next big town over from us about 4 years ago. The Grand Island, Nebraska store, has declined terribly since then.
I went there many months ago (granted we were in the middle of a pandemic) but the drive thru was horrible and when they forgot something the only recourse I had was to get BACK in the drive thru line because they did not answer the phone and the lobby was locked up.
So figuring things have calmed down, we tried again last weekend. I always get popcorn shrimp and mashed potatoes. Sunday evening, and they were out of BOTH. We ordered something else and thought...we will have to try again.
We found ourselves in Grand Island again this weekend and said, let's try it again. At 5:00 pm on a Sunday night (after we ordered on the app) they said it would be a 15-minute wait for the fried chicken. We could wait or take tenders instead. Not wanting to wait, the hubby decided to take the tenders. Then the guy audibly huffed when we asked for jelly, and when I asked for a 2nd cocktail sauce, he told us it would be a quarter. We were already getting less than we paid for, and then he also gave us 1 spork & 1 straw for TWO orders.
Trust me, it will be a cold day WAY DOWN SOUTH before I go to the Grand Island...
Read moreI received the worst service I’ve ever had at the Popeyes at 1309 N Diers Ave in Grand Island, NE. There was a wait for a pie and waiting was an inconvenience to my plans and they wouldn’t let me pay the difference for what I wanted as a replacement and they couldn’t give me a refund. When I asked for the corporate number they said they didn’t know what it was and then told me that they were not allowed to give it out. After about 3 different teenagers came to the window, after making us wait for 15 minutes, the manager finally comes to the window and she also seems very young with a clear attitude and hands us a pie, that at this point, I no longer trust that they haven’t done something to. She also refused to give the corporate number or her name and no one had a name badge on. She told me that I needed to get out of her line and that it wasn’t good for her store. Well she needs to be taught that her poor customer service and management skills is not good for any location. I would not suggest anyone go to this location during the...
