What a thorough disappointment!
We've been coming to Chipotle for 15-20 yrs. We've dined at Chipotle restaurants all over Colorado and other states - from Colorado Springs to Denver to Glenwood Springs to GJ. Once we moved to the Western Slope we would dine at the Chipotle in Grand Junction nearly every week. I often used Chipotle for business catering, so my expectations are well-grounded in a long history as a customer.
My husband and I stopped in this evening. The first thing we noticed was the price increase and a hand-written note that their warehouse was out of chips and tacos. As the servers dished up our two salads with chicken we both were taken back by the dramatically smaller portions - not a spoonful of anything. The cheese was sparse and you could see the bottom of the paper bowl. We asked for various salsas and corn but our requests were ignored. No cilantro either. We finally asked to speak with the manager. He explained that they were audited by corporate and got in trouble for dishing out too large of portions, so they can no longer give the same size portions as they used to. He added that there will be additional charges for the salsas. He was very apologetic and said that he's had many repeat customers with the same complaint. We declined the salads and he refunded our money.
As I stated, we've dined at various locations over many years. The portions at Grand Junction were consistent with all of the other restaurants, so it's pretty clear to me corporate's claim had nothing to do with the GJ store over-portioning and everything to do with charging their customers more money for less value.
Although McDonalds divested it's interest in Chipotle back in 2006 it clearly left its mark in its poor value for the money business model. It looks like me and many repeat customers will have to find another place to eat...
Read moreI placed a $16.90 order on 4/24 around 6:15 online using Caviar. The app never asked which store I was picking up from so I assumed it was this location. When I arrived they didn't have the order. The girl asked if I had placed my order at the right location, the receipt did show the phone number for this location. Directions for pickup were in Houston, TX for some reason. It didn't seem like they cared about fixing my order so I left to eat somewhere else. I immediately tried to cancel my order on Caviar but the help page on the app was frozen. I continued to try once I got home with better wifi. I called this store and they were of no help, they just told me to deal with the app. I did file a complaint, they've issued me a $4.22 refund. Not sure why they think they can have the rest of my money. Its obviously a software issue which happens and I understand. The problem is Chipotle did nothing to refund me, instead they sent me to a robotic customer service department who decided to refund me a fraction of what I spent without giving me a reason. Now the claim is "resolved" and I can't file another complaint at Caviar. I know it's just $12 and some change but why should they...
Read moreWe’ve been eating here exclusively for many years. Edith is the third manager we’ve known. We used to love this place and looked forward to lunch. Two days ago was a disaster. I tried to call to speak with Edith and AI makes it impossible. It’s so frustrating! This place has changed so much since Edith took over. The portions are minuscule and the prices keep going up. There was very recently a .50 increase on burrito bowls. Carolina gave me a smidgen of fajita veggies and I asked for a bit more. She acted like it was coming out of her paycheck. Her body language was insulting and she had an attitude. The fajita veggies are usually cut way too large and are undercooked. There’s more onions than peppers always. The employees aren’t very friendly and they’re almost always short-staffed. The doors were still locked when we arrived at 10:50 am the other day. I hope some changes are made or we...
