The food was good and portions were reasonable - on par with a decent chain restaurant (we had fajitas, chips & salsa). I really liked the atmosphere and bar - understated and classy.
The food gets a 4, but the 3 rating comes from the service and a couple of nitpicky things. The table at our booth was too high for the seats, and so I felt like a kid sitting at the grownups table 😜. It was also too narrow. Even though it was set up for four, it still felt cramped with only two of us.
Then there's our server - the bartender. It took a little longer than it should have for her to greet us and take our drink order, which would have been fine if she'd also taken our food order. But after asking what we wanted to drink, she quickly walked away. After bringing us our drinks, she quickly disappeared again without giving us the chance to order our food. We waited a few minutes and even caught her glancing over a couple of times making me think that she'd be right over. I ended up walking over to the bar to let her know that we were ready to order. From then on, the service...
Read moreI have been looking forward to the opening of Acapulco Mexican Grill Grand Rapids for a long time now and last night I had the pleasure of being invited to this amazing location for their soft opening. The hostess and wait staff were full of smiles and enthusiasm from the time I walked in the door making me feel very welcomed. The decor is very beautiful and the seating is very comfortable. The custom tiled bar is gorgeous and inviting. It was obvious looking around at the layout, including the beautiful lighting, and wall decor, that a lot of time and talent was put into making Acapulco the fabulous restaurant it is! Despite having nearly a full house of patrons, they were very attentive to making sure our food arrived timely and hot! The menu had more options than I've seen in a long time making it hard to choose my meal, but I landed on the Enchiladas Rancheras Trio which was the best I've had. I can't wait to go back again and again to try more dishes! I'm also excited about the mention of an up and coming seasonal, global menu, and can't wait to see...
Read moreI had the displeasure of dinning in on 9/16/25. Our waiter was not friendly although I saw others that were. He appeared to not possess a personality for customer service at all. The "happy hour" was not indicated anywhere but when I asked he told me about the $5margarita It was watered down and not worth 3$ the ground beef tacos supreme were small and tasteless. The guacamole was just ok and nothing to bring me in again. The chips were not salted or warm. All of this for $80 2 adults w 1 5$ margarita and 2 kids meal w no drinks! I think you can do better I will wait a while to come back in and give you time to hopefully get your act together. In the meantime. May I suggest the owners try taco barracho or Luna to see what it takes to keep...
