On 10-2-2024 my gf and I visited here in the morning. We had coffee/Kahlua and had a great time with the staff. We learned the manager was Jason and questioned about a pumpkin beer. The staff said he hadn’t tapped it yet. So we joked and said that we’d be back for lunch in 2 hours and have him change his mind. Upon returning he did just that. We got 2 beers with pumpkin and rimmed glasses. The whole experience was enough that we said we would return. Now…. On 10-23-2024 myself and a buddy stopped and I believe Nathan was the server. I was not impressed with him at all. He argued on every experience I asked about. He said he didn’t know about the pumpkin beer and had no idea what I was talking about with a rimmed glass and they couldn’t do that. I asked if Jason was the manager and he confirmed. I told him I was there 3 weeks prior and the staff then took care of us so I knew it was possible. I explained they used a Pilsner glass to help with the rim and it was a sugar/cinnamon mix used on the rim of the glass. When he brought it out he had only used sugar and the rim was only half done. I also asked about a mustard for the pretzels we ordered and it was not brought out with the pretzels. My suggestion to him is if a customer says that they have been there before and discusses something they’ve had …. Maybe go ask someone before you make a customer feel uncomfortable and irritated for the fact I know it was able to be done. This sets the tone for the rest of the experience and I will return but will ask for a different server if he comes to my table. Now, the positive to this though, go eat there! The food is excellent! I have been there many times and never had a bad meal. I normally have excellent service as well. Great outside seating area… of course weather permitting! To Jason… thanks for opening the pumpkin back on Oct. 2! We were totally excited that you did!! And also to the staff that helped us in the morning, a female, and then our server, male, that took great...

Read moreGreat German restaurant in the style of a German bier hall. A large, airy space dominated by long communal tables in the center and surrounded by individual tables along the walls. A big menu, organized into wursts (sausages), schnitzels, combos and haus favorites. As expected, there’s also a large selection of beers, both in-house and others. We were there for an early Saturday lunch, so I unfortunately didn’t try the beers this time. We started with the Reuben balls, a deep fried concoction of kraut, corned beef & cheese. These were excellent, especially with the side of thousand isle dressing. The wife then ordered the Munich Sampler (jagerschnitzel, grilled bierwurst & bratwurst), while I had the Reuben. The wife liked her choice, although she found the bierwurst a little tough to chew. The sides of kraut & German tater salad were excellent; the kraut is described as “imported from Germany”. It had a unique vinegar/sweet flavor that was very good. I found the Reuben to be a good, serviceable offering- but I’ve had better. I actually enjoyed the bowl of potato soup more. For dessert, wife had a classic crème puff while I had apple strudel w/ice cream. The puff was very rich, much more so than local favorite Schmidt’s product. The strudel was great, many rolls of pastry & filling with a very good ice cream. Our verdict? A great place for German fare, with a larger menu than the other local favorite German place, Schmidt’s. Selection and quality come with a price tag; $77 before tip, with no alcohol and only one soda. Still, it’s great for an occasional craving and...
