World-Class Soccer Experience with Premium Pricing & Parking Challenges
Home to one of Ohio's two MLS teams (along with Cincinnati), this newer stadium represents a massive upgrade from the historic Columbus Crew field (now used for events and practice).
What Makes This Stadium Outstanding:
Facility Excellence: Beautiful, modern design - clean lines and contemporary architecture Cutting-edge technology throughout the venue Open, spacious layout that feels premium from entry to exit Variety of seating options - from standard seats to full executive experiences
Game Day Atmosphere: Excellent sightlines from all areas Top-notch sound and video systems Professional-level amenities and concessions True soccer-specific stadium built for the sport
The Reality Check - Major Drawbacks:
Expensive Everything - Budget $100+ Beyond Tickets: Single drinks: $13-15 for a can of hard seltzer, $10-12 for beer Parking: $20-40+ depending on proximity (cheaper options 1+ miles away) Food: Similar premium markup to beverages Real talk: Easy to spend $100+ per person on parking, drinks, and food alone
Total Experience Cost Reality: For two people, expect $150-200+ in extras (parking + 2-3 drinks each + food) on top of ticket prices. A "simple" Crew game can quickly become a $200-300+ outing.
Parking Nightmare: Limited nearby parking - most affordable options are 1+ miles away Extremely expensive close-in parking options Total chaos when Blue Jackets play simultaneously or other downtown events conflict Plan extra time and budget for parking logistics
Bottom Line: Lower.com Field is everything you want in a modern soccer stadium - beautiful, tech-forward, and offering premium experiences. However, the complete package (tickets, parking, food) becomes quite expensive, and parking logistics can seriously impact your game day experience.
Perfect for: Soccer fans willing to pay premium prices, special occasions, corporate entertainment Consider: Budget extra for parking/concessions, arrive early for parking, check downtown event calendars
Would I recommend? Yes, for the soccer experience itself - just be prepared for the total cost and parking challenges that come with downtown premium venues.
Pro tip:Look into park-and-ride options or public transit to avoid the parking...
Read moreTypically the crew games are my favorite event. Unfortunately tonight that was a different story. Not at any fault of the players since they played an amazing game. But the staff. Wow, the staff here are just the worst that someone can employ. The front entrance was the start of it all. They have updated their bag policy which fine I understand. But don't try to tell me something that's not the policy just to let yourself feel like you have some sort of power. They would not let me bring in my unopened water bottle and said there is free water inside. Ummm, that was not true as the vendors charge for any type of water. So again false. Then inside when purchasing a beer, I order what's on the menu and I received a totally different beer and the response was "well they are the same brewery" ha. That is ridiculous and I already paid and now they won't replace with something else. Also, I order a soft drink and there is no ice. What,?? It's the start of the game and already out of ice Wow. I said would have been nice to know you didn't have ice, and the response was with a smack on the table, not exaggerating "there's other refill stations in the stadium you can use" . We'll I came here and you should tell someone there is no ice and also let a patrin know you don't have the beer on the menu. Then when leaving we wanted to discuss the false information about water with the security and wow. Nothing but rude gestures and remarks while we calmly discussed the issue. Then more and more workers come around and make the situation worse. By making sly comments and not helping the already calm situation. Causing us to have to leave otherwise threats of police for making a statement against their employees. I don't know who needs to read this but with how amazing the futball club is I would hope the staff would be better. Or at least know their own policies and not try to be the police themselves. Get off your high horse and realize we are paying customers to see a game. Overall, really sad this was the interaction that we experienced tonight at lower.com field. The name must mean lower standards of employment and staff. Only thing I can...
Read moreSENSORY SENSITIVY REVIEW. Not a great place for those whom are sensory sensitive. I understand its a large event, im mostly just comparing the vulnerability in such situations to the historic crew stadium experience. Sensory level high even with earplugs/hearing aids/ headphones. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I personally love the sound and sights of the game but in the new place it's a bit intense. Especially for those who have social/light/sounds sensitivities. The strobes during the goal and just the sheer volume of the speakers was a little much. There is only one sound reduction room and it was in use when we tried to go after the half. If bringing someone who may be overwhelmed id take caution where you can buy your seats as well arriving earlier and staying later to avoid be caught in a loud or crowd heavy area. There is a standing area all the way at the top of Nordecke that suited our needs when the sound was found to be a bit intense however. Love the Crew! Loved going to games at Historic Crew Stadium for many reasons. The new Match day experience was different but still very much a Crew experience. Despite being packed in a little more and the crowd clearly being more than the old stadium could pull on a Wednesday night, the lines all went smoothly and it was relatively easy to get around. The venue staff was also very friendly in answering questions and pointing us to where we needed to go. Everyone should definitely try to go to a game if they're able but just be prepared for the soccer rave you're getting into! And the parking...
