I tried really hard to like this place, but both time I went it was an AWFUL experience.
The first time, as a group of 6 people, we made a few orders for drinks and food at the bar. Some people also ordered from food trucks (which all came out super fast). The drinks first took forever. Everyone seemed confused on how to even get drinks out. Then the food wasn’t ready. Still wasn’t ready. Still wasn’t ready. We tried to be patient and even though it wasn’t busy AT ALL, we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Finally after 1.5 HOURS, yes, one and a half HOURS, we finally asked again where the orders were. They said they forgot to put in the actual orders. Mind you, we had all fully paid in advance. We said it’s been 1.5 hours and we have kids. We would just like a refund unless it was coming out then. They said no, they hadn’t started but they couldn’t refund because they didn’t know how. Insane. So we had to wait 30 more minutes to get the food. 2 hours for tacos and wings, guys. Not a single apology whatsoever. Not a comp dish for TWO HOURS waiting for food. They very much seemed like they had our money and could care less about anything else. The worst service I’ve ever come across. The food was not great anyways. The wings were just ok. The tacos were vegan and honestly awful. None of it was worth even a 30 minute wait.
So we waited several weeks and decided to go back one more time and see if they sorted out their crap. We ordered and paid for 2 martinis and 1 order of wings. After paying and sitting they came over and said they were out of the juice for the drinks 🤣 C’mon, tell people it’s out BEFORE they pay. I asked for a refund and they said just pick another drink. Ridiculous. I didn’t want another drink. They refused to refund us then and said they would have to call the credit company and cancel the sale (BS). Any business can cancel and refund. They may have to pay a fee, but they should…they made a mistake. We just left without food/drink/refund.
…Still haven’t gotten the refund. They need to wait awhile and get their business together before trying to start this up. It was such an awful experience, there isn’t another place in GP that I wouldn’t rather eat at before this place. Absolute chaos and scammy. Poor quality food and the poorest class of service.
And not a single apology or admitting to...
Read moreWow a new place in town formerly known as Herbs, is now known as code 4 taphouse. Had to stop in and see for myself as I am a Google map representative I like to highlight all the new places I go to especially the new ones this is one of them. This is a wonderful restaurant that was historically part of Grants Pass for a long time. And now has been revamped and it's just as wonderful if not more then herbs was. The staff is just great always asking you how everything is. This is a big yes in my book as I have 30 plus years of restaurant management and service behind me so I am very picky when I go to restaurants I am happy to let you know this place is awesome I foresee it being around for a long long time. The prices of the food range from $10 on up the patio and decor is just wonderful. Lot of seating indoors and out. Although shenanigans isn't here the bar is still in business. They also now have food trucks. Whoever came up with this unique plan for this restaurant. They did a great job. I hope if you're a Grants Pass resident and you used to come to herbs that you'll come to code for tap House you will be surprised and you will be very well taken care of and great food for great prices. My highlight was the little bitty fry baskets that they serve their french fries in. The Monte Cristo is what I had with freeze it was wonderful and iced tea. So come all out you Grants Pass residents and support our local restaurant, it's not gone but it's not herbs anymore but that's okay it's just as great as herbs was and I hope it'll be around for a long long time. Thank you code 4 taphouse I look forward to...
Read moreHerbs 2.0. I had hopes. We went for lunch on Grand opening day. No fan fare. It’s still two separate facilities and the kitchen still has terrible ventilation so you will leave smelling greasy and smoky. We ordered veggie burgers, which were on the menu but ten minutes after we ordered we were advised that there were no veggie burgers. So we reordered. I asked for a grilled cheese which is not on the menu. My friend ordered breakfast. The food took 20 min to arrive. It was unremarkable. The fries were terrible, several of them had been fried over and over. I asked if they had Boneyard RPM on tap. She offered a can, she did not offer a frosted glass. The can was $6. The atmosphere is bland. Flys were prominent. We walked over to the bar side. It’s bright and clean. There is no seating at the bar. The bartenders were friendly. Pints...
