Tamales Con Alma is outstanding. I'm so glad that we have such a dependably great new restaurant in Grants Pass where I can take friends when they visit from out of town. My most recent experience there was outstanding. The cashier, Hector, took time to describe some menu items that I had never heard of in addition to sharing his favorites and breaking down their use of high quality ingredients. I tried the Jamaica and horchata and the horchata was some of the best I've ever had. When I told Hector I was looking to try something new he brought out the salsa sampler which included a somehow dairy free jalapeno cream sauce that was out of this world. Overall this place is top shelf with friendly and informed service to go along with it. On top of all of that I ordered three items and a large horchata and my meal totaled up to around $12. Not bad for the best horchata and one of the best moist tamales I've ever had. I highly recommend...

Menudo fromTamales con alma yesterday was the worst I've ever had. Isn't menudo supposed to have hominy? It was $16.95 a bowl! When she brought it to my table I started to smell it then I kept smelling it because it was a familiar smell I just could not put my finger on it. It was literally a bowl of tripe with broth. Big pieces of tripe. It was very disappointing I added the onions and the cilantro and I drank the broth and left a big bowl of tripe on the table LOL And last night when I was going to bed rubbing my feet together it was brought to my attention what the smell of that bowl was reminding me of. Chitterlings! That's what it smelled like. Chitlins are much better then that bowl of menudo yesterday. Services was horrible. When we got there the women at the front was just on her phone ,we when and sit at a table . There were absolutely no costumers there.We had been there before and and we were never knowledge at all not even a hi nothing we were sitting for like 15 min and nothing still on her phone we asked if someone was if we need to give the order at the front and the women with a actitud said yes we needed to give the order before sitting i said it weird because We been there before and they took the order when we were sitting and even give us chips and salsa and she just give me her attitude.
