The jet boat trip is fun, but the brunch is so-so. On its own, I would not recommend the brunch. As part of the trip, it's fine. The standard brunch consists of a small tray of fruit to be shared, a basket of breads (sweet cornbread, biscuits, quickbreads), gravy, lots of greasy bacon & sausage, home fry-style potatoes, and scrambled eggs (rehydrated). Having done this same trip with a class of 5th graders recently, I was aware of what would be served. Knowing this, we ordered 2 standard meals & 3 vegetarian/vegan meals for our family of 5, which includes one strictly vegatarian member. The vegetarian potatoes & veggie dish was much more flavorful than the standard fare. The biggest issue is that the veggie dishes didn't come out until after the rest of the food was gone and we had asked where they were. This also didn't leave much time to enjoy that part of the meal before returning to the boats. Even with 4 people, including 2 teenage boys, eating breakfast meat meant for 2, there was plenty. We would have appreciated more fruit though. The same was true on the school trip too- far more meat than we could eat while the fruit was gone in a blink. The views are nice. The country music playing in the open air dining area wasn't my cup of tea, but at least it wasn't overly loud. The staff was polite but not experienced. If sharing a large table with another group or food being served family-style is unpalatable, you may not enjoy...
Read moreThe boat ride was amazing!! We did the 4 hour dinner one and our driver was great! It was a fun and beautiful ride, definitely got soaked! Dinner at the huge beautiful open lodge was very good. They started us with salad, tea, lemonade, beer and wine and then brought biscuits and corn bread followed by cheesy potatoes and steamed squash followed by BBQ chicken and ribs. Everything was unlimited and it was all very good. We thought the ride home would be dry, but we got more wet then the ride there! At least our driver was a pro at getting you soaked. It was a blast! I would highly suggest! Just bring a towel to leave in your car and also maybe a poncho or something to shield yourself from the walls of water if you don't want...
Read moreIt's a huge lodge! Beautiful scenery! The seating; can be difficult, the service; just give it chance, because most of the servers are young people, with trying to lessen their "young" attitude. Well at least trying to. Men's restroom; at least they've more than one toilet, and urinals. Food; it's like a breakfast. Eggs, sausage, bacon. Biscuits and gravy, a fruit tray hot coffee and tea, by request, O. J. , Ice water, sparkling cider, and I believe champagne. I don't much complain about food, being that, there too many people out there starving so, yeah. My advice; Don't eat nothing that's gonna give you trouble. And, don't drink too much liquid. Your trip is back, is on the boat. And there's no...
