Finally able to write this as I'm done dealing with state reports about this place. I worked at this establishment for over a year & the conditions of this business health & safety wise were absolutely atrocious. The owner Jeremy's dog would be in the food prep, roasting & bar areas. She peed on the floor behind the counter next to the ice machine once, as he did not watch her. I would hear the roaster at the time talk about how he had to pick dog hair out of the beans. We did not get lunches in the drive through unless working 8+ hours. Only 2 of us had food handlers licences when we were serving bagels with cream cheese. Cream cheese was kept sitting out in plastic bins with ice that wouldn't be changed for 7 hours, no expiration labeling was done & sometimes the containers would be refilled by piling more cream cheese in the unwashed container on top of the old product. Organic juices were being kept at improper temperatures. Blenders, tins etc were being washed in a hand washing sink in the drive through. Ice filters were rarely ever cleaned & us baristas were never taught how or when to do so. Expired syrups were being used in drinks for months on end. A Facebook post was made by rogue apologizing for not having chai tea for so long because they want to provide customers with high quality organic products, when in actuality us employees knew that the chai absence was ignored for months & non organic products were commonly substituted when we ran out of usual products. All issues were brought up to the owner various times, who responded by dodging responsibility & saying that he's just "too busy" to deal with...
Read moreIn general the staff seems extremely uptight every once in awhile. There's some nice people that work here but there are a few that are extremely overzealous. They are baristas on a mission who are extremely by the book to the letter of the law. I come here and work on my laptop and as soon as it's time to close I'm immediately bombarded and hounded by one or two employees who stared down at you and hover over you as if you're somehow a gross trespasser into their personal space all of a sudden. They have a culture to promote Mexican coffee drinks, and multiculturalism and tolerance, and it seems blatantly apparent that they are Democrats and have an universal aspect to the world and have no respect for their customers as residents of their local community. When a customer stays over 2 minutes they immediately treat them as if the full force of any law that applies should come down on them. It's a little Dusty and unkept and the employees seem more concerned with their grunge-like appearance then the upkeep of the cafe where the chairs are old and uncomfortable in general and some of them are better and some of them are not. They seem a little erratic if they're having a good day they'll give you a mug if they're not they'll give you a coffee cup to go and in general the coffee is not consistently very good at all. Because people from my neighborhood work there there are a few that are amazing but the general...
Read moreWent here with my family. When I ordered a half caffeine breve, the cashier asked me what percentage I wanted decaf. I responded with half decaf and half caffeine. She then responded, do you want 2 shots full caffeine, 2 shots decaf or 1 of each. I told her I wanted one of each. We also ordered a bagel, the Bagel was really good, probably the only good thing we got. When my 12 oz drink came out there was so much foam that it was more like an 8 oz. I will say they did remake my drink and it was more like a 12oz. Sadly the coffee just tasted burnt so I didn’t end up drinking it, but if you like that very dark, burnt, brooding, malic acid taste then maybe it’s not all that bad. But they didn’t have another option for espresso. My Husband ordered a 12 oz latte as well and it came out short and was lukewarm. My daughter did enjoy her orange cream soda though! We were really surprised to find out that they were voted best coffee is Southern Oregon! Maybe they have a good standing in the community? Maybe they have a rich history? Maybe it’s a ‘pay to play’ award? But as far as the coffee, I can think of at least 10 other locally owned shops in Southern Oregon that are superior...
