UCAN — Local services in Grants Pass

Didn't have a good experience with them on September 1st, 2023 I feel because of my last name I was treated differently then my neighbors that worked with them. Had called twice first time was lied to, then when I did my research and told the receptionist that I know they had a certain program she gave an attitude when I told her earlier that morning she told me differently, then she transferred me to the right place after giving details of my situation the website two hours later stated they don't help with what my family needs it was more than a coincidence. I was born and raised in this town moved away and came back because it's home. Never felt more ashamed in my life, I sure do hope other families of other nationalities don't get the same treatment. I did finely get a phone call from the department on the 12th almost 2 weeks later to explain why I will not be asking help from them going forward. I believe they pick and choose based on their beliefs. Maybe I should seek legal help in regards to their receptionist that has continued to belittle people on the regular throughout the years and nothing has been done. "PEOPLE...

Never had a problem getting energy assistance from UCan they have always been more than helpful. This year two applications have come up missing. Nothing but harassment out of the staff. Making me jump though personal hoops for assistance. 25 requests for a supervisor to no avail. Now I'm being told to be nice to staff after not being rude for 4 months patiently waiting for help. Receptionist asked for my medical condition of my disability to be transferred to a voice-mail of a supervisor. I have reached my limit suffering with no heat, disabled, terminal with cancer. Worst winter ever spending every dime I have to keep warm while getting no response out of UCan but negativity and humor out of my situation. I'm being told I'm not doing enough for assistance at this time and being rude to staff. I've submitted 2 applications one in December one in February and being asked to submit another in April because they lost both my previous applications. No supervisor will call me on this issue or acknowledge my call. 30 times now I've asked to speak to...

The organization advertises that they they help with many different things. I found myself in need of some of the help they stated and when I got there the lady at the front desk was very judgemental and rude. She actually rolled her eyes at me while I gave a brief discription of why I was there. I am literally going through so much right now and am barely maintaining a drive to live everyday even. Sharing my personal drama with a stranger is hard enough and this women was almost my last straw. Suicide is easier than having to be treated like she treated me. I am better now but to no thanks...
