We walk in as a party of three. The host asks us "three? Sit wherever you'd like". The business isn't too busy as we come in, and we take a seat by the window. Our server introduces himself, plops us down some menus, and asks us what we'd like to drink. We order our drinks, and take a look at the menu. By the time our server comes back with our drinks, which was very quick, we're ready to order our appetizers, which is just one, the jalapeno poppers with spicy tuna (p1). He goes away to put that in the computer, and we continue looking at the menu. By the time he comes back, we are ready to order our entrées. Me and one of my compatriots order the Miso Soup (v1). I included a video of opening it, for the sake of presentation. It was beautiful. I also ordered the Dragon Maki roll (p2). My compatriots ordered the deep fried Nevada roll(top, p3,4) as well as the deep fried Red Devil roll(bottom, p3,4). My Dragon Maki came out first, and then the two deep fried rolls came out at the same time. I did have to request wasabi and ginger, but that's fine by me, as I would rather have to request them then have them go to waste by individuals who don't eat them. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. The wasabi is imitation wasabi, but that's to be expected based on the location. I was not able to photograph the inside of the restaurant, but as a description, it was a very beautiful, modern Japanese design, with several Lucky Cats behind the bar. Soft jazz was playing on the overhead speaker.

10/10 experience. Would eat here again. Maybe I'll try some...

🍣🍣🍣 Try a new sushi place that just opened, recommended by my friend.

First thing that I recognize is the restaurant name, Neko sushi, since I love cat, and food, and sashimi, we got to try the place and oh boi Im not dissapointed, its outstanding!!

✅Ambience ✨ Cozy, great interior and homey. The restaurant also play my favorite song from ghibli ost boosting the mood! 😭❤️ ✅Services ✨ The restaurant run by family, all services are top notch, they make sure we got feed well, enjoy the food, no waiting time, fast response and also yes, they all are really nice to customers ❤️ ✅ Food and beverages ✨ The sushi all are soo good ☺️ Tried main course of unagi don, indomie goreng ( this one hit the list! ), Sushi roll, jalapeno peppers, monkey brain, volcano and mango, we order so many that we aint remember which sushi we order because its gone so fast to our stomach! ( Forgot to take more pic, family eat so fast before the instagram story rolled ) 😅

My fav so far is special rolls Dynamite, must try! 🤗 the combination of spicy tuna, jalapeno with cream cheese, deep fried! So delicous that I re ordered it again just to keep my sanity in touch. Kids like the mango ✨ 🥳✨

sushi is my comfort food, and this place by so far is my new toplist to go when craving sushi! 🍣 They also have bento, which unfortunately I didnt get a chance to tried it but I will for the next visit...

I have been purchasing Sushi here since they opened. My go-to has been the Nigiri Deluxe. It was always delicious and fresh tasting. I got this same dish last week after not ordering there for about 3 months. It was awful. Dry, fishy tasting and, to top it off, they raised the price by $5. I didn't recognize any of the staff so I am wondering whether this change is secondary to new management. Perhaps I just hit them on a bad day. I will try one more time. If it's as bad as it was last week, that's the end of my previously much appreciated relationship with this restaurant.

Follow-Up. Nov. 23, 2024 Decided to give Neko Sushi another chance. Glad I did. It was again as usual: Nigiri Combo Sushi was moist, fresh and delicious. I think my previous bad experience was a one-off. Hated the idea I might not be again enjoying the Sushi here. Best in...

My wife told me there was a new sushi restaurant that just opened. So we decided to go try it, and what a surprise it’s sushi chef “Jimmy” and his family. They used to own the sushi restaurant in Brooking and before that the old sushi place in Cave Junction. My wife used to work for him in CJ, and she used to make me drive to Brooking just to eat Jimmy’s sushi… We got the best welcome from Jimmy and family, very friendly and pleasant. We ordered some jalapeño poppers and pot stickers for appetizer. My picky son had fries and chicken nuggets. We ordered the Kaleidoscope, Volcano and Caterpillar sushi rolls. And also some Indonesian rendang, which they didn’t have at their restaurant in Brookings Everything was delicious. It’s always been a great experience eating at Jimmy’s . We will be going there once a week from now on.
