Great place.
Recently returned after a very, very odd experience kept me away after their initial opening.
When ordering extra cheese here, you don’t actually pay for extra cheese. You pay for whatever motion the employee makes to get it. If the cheese doesn’t make it to your salad, you still have to pay for the cheese… sound confusing right. Well, a manager clearly explained it, a few times as I was in complete shock.
I asked for blue cheese on their beet salad instead of Parmesan. They explained the blue cheese would still be an extra charge as it’s considered a premium cheese. Ok, fair enough. I wanted extra blue cheese even.
When the employee scooped the cheese, it stuck to the ice cream scooper and only a few crumbles fell out. I mentioned, “hey the cheese got stuck and didn’t get on the salad…”
So the employee broke up the large blue cheese wad (that was supposed to be on my salad), and re-scooped it in. (Scoop number 2- but only one scoop of cheese on the salad.)
Since I wanted 2 scoops, I asked, “can I get another scoop since the cheese stuck to the spoon and didn’t make it onto my salad the first time.” Thus I got my 3rd scoop, for 2 scoops of cheese on my salad.
I questioned the charge for the 3 scoops. That’s when they explained “the motion” charge. You see, it doesn’t actually matter if you get the food. You pay for the motion of the employee going for the food.
I questioned this several times as I was in complete disbelief. However, the staff looked at me like I was just a rude complaining customer.
Not paying to watch someone attempt to make a salad, paying for food guys. Change your practice,...
Read moreFirst time being there , so we had no idea what to expect. Had the thai salad and the southwestern salad. I really enjoyed my salad. I at the time did not realize that you could swap out things. I think when I come in again it'll definitely try the chicken instead of having the shrimp, and I may have missed it, but I wish they would have said that the dressing had a bit of heat to it. It didn't bother me , but I could see where other people it would bother quite a bit. My Husband had the Southwestern and he said, rather than chicken. He would've really rather had some chipotle beef or something like that. My only suggestion is that perhaps offering a chopped bit of lettuce instead of whole lettuce pieces. In full pieces even though they are baby greens, you still end up picking up a fork full and having it hit me in the chin. The chopped would be very easy to eat with the peanuts and a smaller things that are on the salad. My peanuts all ended up in the bottom of the bowl , and I got to have them at the end. Otherwise delicious, im definitely going to recommend, and will really look forward to my next Grants Pass visit so I can try...
Read moreI ordered the "Large" salad bowl option with the other choice being the Regular size. The portions were just over an inch off the bottom of the bowl. If the amount they give for the Large size is that little, then the Regular is going to be kid size portion at best.
After I sat down and kind of chuckling with my friends about the portions sizes. I went back up to the counter thinking maybe they made me a regular size and not the large size I ordered and paid for. They cashier barely gave me notice didn't look at my bowl when asked if this was correctly a large. I just got a roll of the eyes and flat yeah. No effort to actually look at the bowl I was trying to show them or concern that a customer wasn't happy.
The food quality was good and everything was fresh and tasty. But I will not go back or suggest anyone go there when you get that small of portions for good money and for the staff to be so unconcerned with...
