Stop! Don't do it! lol This review is more for those from GP who grew up getting real Millie's Sandwiches - sadly, Millie's is gone. This establishment merely bought the name to benefit from the historical name.
Today, I went to this place and got a Grinder, hoping to enjoy that familiar taste. It didn't start well with a price tag of $13.95 just for the sandwich. It went down hill from there. At least they still use the signature clear plastic wrap though. However, the bread - nothing like Millie's bread. Old and stale with a hard crust. The meat - look at the attached picture. But I could have handled the grinder with little meat if it had that signature seasoning salt on it. It was NOTHING like Millie's seasoning salt. I went up and asked for the seasoning salt and she showed me the shaker, which had a brown hue/film on the top. I've stared at that shaker many times and it was red like Lowry's salt. Lady said "this is original Millie's seasoning salt." Definitely not even close. No oil on sandwich either.
I cannot imagine how many Italian Grinders from Millie's I have eaten in my life. The number of times I have tried to get Patty to tell me what the ingredients are to the secret seasoning powder are almost as many. It was an absolute waste of money and a disappointment. I've literally had better sandwiches from Subway. I normally would have just went on my way and taken it at a loss, but this place is hijacking the Millie's name - at least put out the same food. Don't waste your time if you are going here for a trip down memory lane - at least with the...
Read moreGrowing up in Grants Pass, we went to Millies often. I love the seasoned onions they use. Every time I'm either passing by or visiting Grants Pass, stopping by and grabbing a sub is a must. Yummy! However, this time Millies temporarily moved their location as the owners are on a long vacation. I had been bragging to my boyfriend for quite some time, about how delicious Millies Subs are. So we had an opportunity to go, since we were passing through Grants Pass to swing by and pick one up. I was so sad.. Yes... Sad and disappointed. We ordered two original Millies subs, with everything on them. We drove over to Riverside Park so we could sit in the shade and enjoy them. The thing about a Millies Sub is the ONIONS! Sliced paper thin, piled high with drizzles of oil and vinegar and sprinkles of red chili flakes. It's truly the onions that make them so damn good. But not these ones!! They barely had any onions on them. Usually, the onions are squishing out the sides, but these ones had maybe 25% of what they usually have. So now, my boyfriend who I had raved to about Millies Sandwiches, was like.. Huh? These are nothing special!! I'm so disappointed, cause I only get down to Grants Pass a couple times a year. So.. To whomever made those sandwiches on August 24th, you messed up big...
Read moreBotched the order. Sent it back. Botched it again. Sent it back again. They said no on the third try. Ended up paying for a sandwich and getting nothing. Hungry and $11 poorer. Your reply says you keep giving me free sandwiches. You didn't. I paid and got nothing. I returned the sandwiches. It's not just the no lettuce. You put onions and mustard on there too. I've got a copy of my door dash order if you'd like to see it. You got it wrong twice in a row and kept my money. What kind of review do you expect? Update:You seem very willing to fight over this. I am willing to fight back. I will tell everybody I know how rude you people are. You can...
