So so so so delicious! Flavorful, fresh, everything homemade, empanadas made to order, I could go on for days about how incredible this place is. The owners are so welcoming and happy to explain anything on the menu to someone who might be trying Dominican food for the first time. We ordered from door dash the first time we decided to try it out. The Maduros and Queso Frito are the perfect bites to start with, my husband had the Carne Guisada with pinto beans & yellow rice, and I decided to try their Pernil with white rice and black beans. Both were AMAZING! Their pork is very well seasoned, the beans were tender, and even the white rice had savory buttery flavor to it. My husbands meal was even better than mine. Today we dined in with my mom and kids, and I decided to try the guava and cheese empanada for dessert (the only thing we didn’t get the first time) and to absolutely no surprise, it was incredible as well.
My family and I are definitely going to be regulars here. On a weekly basis, even....
Read moreA gem to savor beautiful and delicious Dominican/Caribbean food. If you have not had an Empanada before, try the Chicken & Cheese. It is WONDERFUL. During my first time there (highly recommended by friends got me there), as food was being served to others, it was hard to choose, so I will be back to try more. People there raved about their favorite items while I was waiting for my to-go order, so it will be exciting to go back and try more! Super friendly owners. They advised to order ahead for to-go's because they make everything FRESH! (Bless their hearts they were worried about my 15 minute wait!) Wonderful experience all the way around. Owning and running your own business let alone a restaurant business is not easy at all, so it has to come from the heart and it totally does here. I hope our community will support this local family business and enjoy the authentic and fresh cuisine as...
Read moreMas Que Chimi is a gem of a Dominican restaurant serving up some of the best pernil we’ve ever had—better than what we’ve tried in NJ or Miami!
We ordered the pernil platter with red beans, yellow rice, and maduros, plus a limeade and a beef and cheese empanada.
Every bite was perfection.
The pernil was melt-in-your-mouth tender and bursting with flavor (slow-roasted overnight!), the maduros were perfectly sweet with crispy edges, and the red beans were rich and savory.
The yellow rice with corn tied everything together beautifully.
The empanada was generously stuffed and delicious, and the fried cheese was perfectly crispy outside and gooey inside.
To top it off, the limeade was freshly squeezed and refreshing.
The husband-and-wife team who run the place are as warm and wonderful as the food they serve.
We can’t rave enough about this spot—Mas Que Chimi is...
