I was invited to my brother in-laws bday dinner here on 04/18/24. It was my first time ever at Boomer Jacks, seen them pop up, but never heard about them, and now don't recommend, at least this location in particular. To say the least, with that being said, my personal experience may or may not be the same or similar for others.
The server that we had, she had okay service, providing some refills as she looks passing by the table. She didn't smile, looked very irritated and acted like we were a bother to her. We didn't say anything. After half of the party had arrived, she came to the table to take the other drink orders and placed a couple appetizers. We waited approximately 30 minutes for fries pickles and when they came out, the breading on them was still mushy, little under fried, pickles were soggy, but they were VERY hot and fresh out of the fryer.
A little while later, the server came back to check on us, and Everytime shed come to the table, she would start slowly turning to walk away while she was mid-sentence as if she knew what we were going to say or ask, rather than asking if we were ready or giving us the very 5 seconds to respond and say what we are wanting. We felt very rushed, and as if we were being blamed by actions for her attitude or whatever she had going on. She was like this from the beginning. The food was barely warm and undercooked.
When we were all done, we were sitting waiting for her to come back for the check. When she finally brought the check back, we noticed a couple "up charges" that clearly were for Xtras ordered, not disputing that, but what was displayed on the menu, was $2.99 to "SUB" the regular beef patty to a WAGYU patty. There are no "add-ons" on their menu. So, assuming SUB would also be to add....I mean where are your add-ons and pricing for said add-ons? But, the issue with this is, a WAGYU burger combo was ordered, just made a double rather than the single it comes with. So, we were expecting to pay $2.99 for the added patty, but the check shows over $4 for that one patty. When asked for a manager because we attempted to make it right with the server and asked her where is the $4 up charge on your menu? There's nothing showing it's $4 to add, but rather only $2.99 to SUB. It was already a WAGYU burger, just added another. I'm not subbing, I'm adding. The server raised her voice towards us and told us "It's $4, not $2.99. I handed her a menu and I asked her to please show me on there where it reflects "add-ons" and she said "they should be on there"...kept looking, couldn't find it. So, she proceeds to say, "so the sun is to simply substitute regular for WAGYU because WAGYU is a higher quality beef". Okay? I didn't ask how much better it is than regular beef.
Ultimately, we got the manager and she was just as arrogant. Didn't care about a dang word we said. She ASSUMED and kept trying to "clarify" her response to my question 3 times. I understand there's no "rule" or "Law" that states they can't have a "hidden" menu or anything, I'm aware restaurants have Al carte menus (secret/hidden) menus where it isn't reflected on the menu but rather by request. I didn't ask for a hidden or secret item or order. This meal was on the only menu they gave us. You may not be required to reflect it on the menu, but if it isn't on the menu and someone asks to "Add" or "sub" something, they are required to tell you the price if it's more or less than what you're consciously aware of paying. The manager, with her snobby rear-end can take a hike and get lost in the wilderness for all I care. She claims they aren't required to inform you of any extra charges and I've got news for her, if she keeps operating like that, they will find themselves in a world of Legal trouble.
I am, myself, a restaurant manager and I wouldn't dream of treating one of my customers like she treated us and talked to us. As a Manager, I'm expected and held to a high standard of professionalism, dignity, integrity, and RESPECT. We will NOT be back. Stay away from here! You've...
Read moreLast night was probably the worst experience that I have ever had at a restaurant. Trust me, I get that we have server shortages and we must be a little more patient BUT the situation that unfolded last night was a bit ridiculous. My husband and I decided to meet up with some friends since it was Cinco De Mayo. Boomerjacks has always been a great place to go grab a bite to eat and have a drink, plus your margarita specials were amazing. (Props to you for that) When we got there we did have a large group of people show up, estimating about 20. We sat outside and we were all having a good time. Service was a little slow, but expected as it was a large group and the place was packed with others there for the same reason. Fast forward to about an hour and a half after we have been there. Our server comes over with all our tabs. When someone stated they didn't tab out, she said the manager cut us off. At that point someone asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Adam, comes over and states we have been overserved. None of us had more than one or two drinks, I didn't drink at all. Once that theory was debunked, he stated one of us was rude to the server and they didn't want to call that person out, so we all had to leave. Then when we were finally leaving we were told they were short staffed and couldn't accommodate a group our size. All of our tabs were left on a counter where we had to rummage through them to find ours so we could pay and leave, per the manager. Again, I get things are hard right now BUT this was the worst experience and handling I have ever seen from a manager. I left feeling as if he just didn't like our group and wanted us gone. Please do better or you will continue to lose...
Read moreI am very profoundly not recommending this place. RUN!!!!! We came on Saturday night for a drink with the entire family of 8 people. First, when we entered the bar, there was no server around or bartender; we only saw two servers leaving for the shift. After deciding to sit at one of the tiny tables, we moved to a big table since we had a pregnant woman. We stayed at the dirty table for about 10 minutes. No server or bartender showed up, so I decided to grab the wapping table cloth to clean the table since no one was there to help us. I thought maybe they were shot staff; here came both managers telling us we were intoxicated and serving us. I asked what it was; he answered that because you moved from one table to another, we all looked at him and thought it was a joke. I have to remind him of the TABC laws before you cut someone if, say, we are intoxicated, including the pregnant woman, too, right? This was very discrimination against us that night. We thought it was over on our way out since the refuse to server us here come when we were talking with the manager to explain; one server came into our conversation saying I am a police 👮 we asked him where his badge was, and he showed us the employee micros card as police badge in that time we are like this is super intimidation and discrimination. The employee lying to the customer, who is the police officer, is a grave matter. I need a corporate person to contact me as soon as possible before we all take a legal matter concerning this behavior. I do have a picture of the server police...
