This is my go-to when wanting a fun, tasty adult beverage/ cocktail and some delicious, high-quality seafood to pair it with. Jan. 2025 I wanted to try something different from the red snapper that I had last visit and my regular opelousas dish. Thankz to waiter Ricardo's recommendation last visit. I ended up ordering the salmon alexander as he suggested. It was delicious but I'm a veggie person so I would had probably ask if I could substitute the dirty rice for some sautéed spinach, or broccoli or even some grilled asparagus or honey/ pistachio fresh baby carrots which they have as an available optional side seperately priced. Food here is so delicious but keep in mind it's not gentle to the wallet. But sometimes you jus got to.

Update! April 2025 most recent visit after finishing last flt. on "go home day." I ordered the Pappadeaux house salad as my starter and of course my regular entrée Mississippi Catfish Opelousas and replaced the dirty rice for sautéed spinach to stay low carb Keto friendly for a lil' upcharge. So worth it 😊

Update July 31, 2025 after some talking w/ my awesome waitress Karen T. she convinced me to step out of my comfort zone of my usual order of the Mississippi Catfish Opelousas. After some of her other recommendations it was between the rainbow trout or the redfish for me. I chose the trout and swapped the green beans for sautéed spinach this time, but will definitely look forward to trying the Texas Redfish entrée my next visit. After such a beautiful meal I was craving something sweet so another recommendation she made was the chocolate brownie ala'mode. I was presented w/ a very generous slice that was accompanied w/ a couple fresh raspberries that has just the right amount of tartness to beakdown all the sweetness going on from the rich chocolate brownie to the chocolate and caramel drizzled on the the scoop of vanilla ice cream. It too was absolutely delicious and...

I recently dined at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen off the Dallas Tollway in Plano, and I have to say, my experience was less than stellar. I ordered the seafood platter, expecting a delightful array of Cajun flavors and fresh seafood, but unfortunately, it fell short on multiple fronts.

To start, the presentation was fine, but the temperature of the food was disappointing. The catfish was the only item on my plate that was served hot; everything else was cold, which really detracted from the overall experience. I had hoped for a warm, comforting meal that would showcase the restaurant’s reputation for flavorful seafood, but instead, I was met with lukewarm dishes that lacked the vibrant seasoning I anticipated.

Speaking of seasoning, I found the food to be surprisingly bland. I was looking forward to that signature Cajun flair, but the flavors just didn’t come through. It felt like a missed opportunity to highlight the freshness and zest that is often associated with Southern seafood cuisine.

As for the stuffed crab, it was a real letdown. Unfortunately, I found numerous shells mixed in with the stuffing, making it nearly inedible. I was really looking forward to enjoying this dish, but the presence of shells made it quite unpleasant.

On a positive note, I must commend the server. They were friendly, attentive, and accommodating, which did help to salvage some of the experience. It’s always nice to be treated well, even when the food doesn’t quite live up to expectations.

Overall, my visit to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen was disappointing. I left feeling underwhelmed by the food, and I expected much more given the restaurant's reputation. I hope to give them another chance in the future, but my first experience with their seafood platter was not what I...

This is great respite in the normal hustle or turmoil of the DFW experience. The food is very good for DFW and the staff makes the whole visit excellent.

It's not directly on the main concourse, it's downstairs and far enough removed to take your conscious mind out of the airport during your stay, while your physical being is already through TSA security. As I said, it's a nice respite for longer layovers, but efficient enough to support the 50 minutes many flights give you; if your connection is in the same terminal.

As a single traveler, I sat at the bar. Chris the bartender was awesome. He was attentive, paid attention to the order, paid attention to detail when making the cocktails, and efficiently managed both drinks and food. It was a weather day, so lots of gate changes, departure changes, and Chris managed them all, without a single display of frustration.

He saw food orders come out and quickly identified the food runner mistakes and made the orders right. The kitchen manager noticed the couple to my right had their entree come out late, (20 minutes after the app) and discounted the meal, even though it did not impact their time, everyone was delayed at least an hour.

Overall the quality of the food was quite good. It was flavorful, the alligator was not overly breaded and it had nice seasoning and overall fresh flavor. The crawfish and shrimp gumbo was very good. Mine came without sausage and Chris saw that before I did, he had the runner go to kitchen and quickly returned with a sizeable portion to add to the gumbo.

If I'm in the correct terminal and have 40 minutes or more to kill, I'll be back. If you're here for 2 hours, make the trip on sky link and try them out. You won't be...

Dec 2023....I am editing my review because they dropped the seafood cobb salad from their menu. I am not going to change my rating because it is still one of the best options in DFW, but the healthy option I went there for is gone. I have to say that I can't write a comprehensive review of the menu at Pappadeaux's DFW location because I love their seafood cobb salad so much I ALWAYS get it when traveling through Dallas. I love the restaraunt itself as a good hangout. It is located at gate A23 in terminal A and depending on which way you approach you either take the escalator or elevator. It is nicely decorated and feels high end and insulated from the bustle of the airport. It is a good Louisiana style seafood restaraunt and I would not hesitate to recommend other dishes but the seafood cobb salad with lump crab is my favorite salad anywhere. It is a generous salad with fresh quality ingredients. In addition to the large chunks of shrimp and lump crab they have thick smoked bacon, sliced avocado, hard boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, crumbled blue cheese and slivered red onion artfully displayed on a bed of hand torn salad greens. I usually get salad dressing on the side as this salad tastes good without it. But either the blue cheese or poppyseed dressings are good. It is $24 for the shrimp and lump crab dinner version which is a lot for salad but it is a meal, and a tasty one at that. I always look forward to a layover in Dallas.
