As far as airport food goes, this wasn’t as bad as I would have expected. Ordered a BBQ combination plate which had a choice of 3 sides and 3 meats (with rolls similar to hamburger buns available upon request). We got the brisket, the pulled pork, and the sausage with the corn on the cob, baked beans, and French fries. Unfortunately the ribs aren’t an option for a meat choice. The fries were a bit soggy, but the beans had a nice subtle heat, as did the sausage. The pulled pork was a tad salty but was more tender than I thought it would be, and the brisket was filling. It came with two BBQ sauces. We tried splitting it among four people, but it would be better suited to be split among 2-3 people. I actually went back and got an order of pulled pork nachos because I was still hungry. The picture doesn’t look appealing at all, but the queso, beans, and pulled pork combination definitely hit the spot. They served the food very quickly (they’ll call it out and you pick it up) and there’s plenty of seating. There’s drink dispenser behind the counter and when we were there, there wasn’t really a line to speak of. Overall it was cool to try this spot since I’ve heard good things about the actual restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend BBQ for lunch if you’re just sitting on a plane for hours on end, so if you do go for it, split it with others.

This visit was on 10/2/20. I'm was DFW for a connecting flight to Vegas. I wanted to try something different and this was on special for $11.99. Ordering was rather quick and easy. Getting my food took a bit, but I think it was because they were waiting on fries. They didn't have sweet tea, only unsweetened tea and that made me sad. I got Sprite Zero instead. The fries were really good and nicely seasoned. A sauce came on the sandwich and I was not a fan. There was a lot of sauce too. It tasted like maybe a mustard based sauce, I'm not sure. The sauce comes on the side in addition to on the sand which. The bread it comes on plus the way they position the sausage made it difficult to eat without tearing the bread into sections and making mini sandwiches. I think I would've enjoyed it better without the sauce. It didn't seem too overpowering with it on the sandwich than using it as a dip for my fries.

It was the worst. Customer service I rate a, -0. I rate the food a, 1 star. After waiting for 10/ 15 minutes, my food was as dry as the desert sand. I ordered a Turkey sandwich combo. The bread was soooo thick and dry I couldn't eat it. The smoked Turkey was everything but smokey. The fries were good but the house recipe tomato ketchup taste like old tomato juice and viniger. Last but not lease...my drink came with the meal but I wanted sweet tea as I ordered at the register. The guy just gave me a cup not informing me they don't have sweet tea. Once I went to fill my cup...there was no tea. So I had to wait on the to be brewed. Once it was finally done it tasted like muddy water I could tell it was a very cheep brand they used just like the ketchup. I paid $15. For nothing. SMH. All in all it sucked. But wait, just as I was writing this review, a shift manager came to my table and ask how did I like everything after she saw...I removed the bread, left the fries and drink still in cup. I told her I was a little disappointed. She then apologized and offered something else to me. I denied it due to me not eating beef or pork and the fact the food wasn't good at all..... so she gave me a bottle of gold peak tea... thank God for the bottled tea. Man Salt Lick you must step your game up if your going to be in Texas offerings smoked BBQ. As of now I would never be back or...

On the one hand, the food was excellent. Outstanding even. The BBQ sauce was terrible and inedible.

Then there's the customer service. I asked if I can order meat by the pound since everything on the menu is a plate or sandwich and I didn't want bread or sides. The cashier said I can do that. So I ordered 1/2 lb of pulled pork and 1/2 lb of sausage.

The cashier then asked me how much food I want IN OUNCES. I told her I want 1/2 lb of pork and 1/2 lb of sausage in however many ounces are in a 1/2 pound. She refused to take my order and told me I had to tell her the ounces. There was a long line of people behind me.

I told her that the question of how many ounces of meat I want is ridiculous and would be like if I went to a gas station and asked for a gallon of gas and they asked me how many kilograms of gas that would be.

Finally I relented and told her that I want 8 ounces of pork and 8 ounces of sausage. THEN SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE CAN ONLY SERVE ME 9 OUNCES AND CAN'T SERVE 8 OUNCES. It was right then that the wires crossed and shorted and a burning smell came out of my head.

Somehow I ended up paying $26.88 for my lunch for one person. But I will reiterate that the food was...
