I reserved a table online for my wife & me and included my email address. After a few hours, when there was no confirmation reply email, I called and eventually the second person who got on the phone was able to locate the reservation, although I had to correct them, because they had us sitting outside, even though the online reservation had been checked for an indoor table.
When we got to the restaurant, the hostess spent time helping someone who didn't have a reservation before turning to us. Then she couldn't seem to find our reservation and had to ask us for the reservation details. She then proceeded to sit us outside until I corrected her, saying that we had a reservation for an indoor table.
Eventually we were seated at a table in the midst of busy restaurant traffic near an air conditioner that was blasting away, so my wife & I moved to another table.
Besides that, the wait service was poor, as well. It took a long time to have our drink order taken followed by the meal request and meal delivery. The food was decent though unspectacular (fajitas for my wife; pulled pork tacos for me). When the waitress delivered our meal , my wife's rice & beans were missing and she promised to return with them - which never happened.
The waitress never came back to check on things, either (e.g., our single napkin each were translucent & stained, but we soldiered on with them). Eventually we flagged down a hostess and asked for the check and a box for our leftovers. We got the check and prayed that we'd get it back with our credit card quickly enough. We never did get the box for leftovers, although our waitress did come by at the end and ask if we wanted it. By this time we said we didn't. The wait for the box - and the leftovers - simply weren't worth it.
We understand that many establishments are closed on Tuesday in Great Barrington, hence the crowds at this restaurant. That was no excuse for the poor service. Maybe the place is better when it...
Read moreUpdate: 11-23-22. This was our go-to place for authentic Mexican, and we drove down from North County. When we arrived didn't have a reservation but there were several tables available. Our party of three was squeezed into a small table by the door and everytime a customer came in so did a cold draft. I asked to move to another table and was told in broken English "no sorry for reservations". We ordered drinks and we're finished with them before our food came out. By now lots of guests left and their were tables available everywhere. Instead of moving us they seated other parties without reservations at better seating. Nobody cared to come by and ask if we wanted another Margarita or anything else, we had to flag them down and still wait. All three of us ordered steak tacos, we were served one plate at a time about 5 minutes apart from each other. The appearance was fine and it was cooked good, but surprisingly to us the steak was stone cold on two of the 3 plates. The third plate was luke warm. Then there's the beans and rice, again ice cold. They offered to warm up my wife's plate, but it still wasn't very hot. Finally she started complaining and wasn't eating and somebody came by to ask if everything was ok. We explained the situation and she apologized and offered new sides of rice and beans, but by then we waited so long we were just ready to go. When the bill came they discount cash sales and pass charges for card on to the customer by up charging. We were only offered 10% off for their mediocre service and food. Definitely a...
Read moreOur daughter was in town visiting for the weekend and we made reservations at this restaurant, the restaurant she chose. The dining experience left us all feeling shocked as we left. Clearly this restaurant prioritizes money over customer service. After approximately only 55 minutes of rushed appetizers, drinks, and entres we were told by our waiter that he could not offer dessert menus or coffee to dining parties per the owner's order. This restaurant admittedly books more parties than it can properly accommodate...obviously to maximize their profit...without regard to customer service or dining experience . We could not believe it. We were appalled that this restaurant clearly had no qualms about rushing customers out before they were done dining. Maybe this restaurant has been riding a wave of success and has gotten away with bad behavior. But with such poor business practices, my guess is it will be only a matter of time before that wave crashes. I once worked as a hostess for a restaurant. And sometimes you need to rush people along in a subtle way. But never after such a short period of time...55 minutes. And never by denying them restaurant services. What this restaureant did is outside the accepted industry...
