Okay i used to work here I know there is no area for this review to rate due to being an ex employee. But the food was good, I aint into the other yummy food there but the burgers, tenders, pizza and of course the wings that’s my jam! Okay Well to get to the reason I am typing this review is to shed light on to the reason I left…. I started to working for Old Chicago when it opened up in April, had no issues at all with the first GM i enjoyed working for her, it was a-lot on her cause she had no help and plus it was just opening so they let her go. The other fill-ins acting as GM was just as good, I enjoyed working for them. I actually really loved working here, I really did but being a Mother of 4 and My grandson in my life having bills, rent to pay I couldn't afford only working only 2 days a week I did mention this to the GM, but always got overlooked, she gave the other gals more hours that had a second job more hours which is okay but they are young still all was in school yes I understand they need money to, but being a 42 year old with priorities, I would have loved to get more hours and would think I would see how hard I worked I kept the front clean all the time, I got lots of compliments by the guests for keeping the place tidy for the position I was working as. Okay for the The new GM she was nice, after a bit she would rude and would tell you what she thought, and I know she called me down several times which is no fault of mine, (I think 😏) she really got mad at me for not showing up when I was not even scheduled for that day, weird I thought to myself and she picked her favorites not right at all in a business like this, she knows there is other people/workers that need hours. I was told by one of her “favorites” that she’s working her to much and needs to give other servers hours. But that has not changed cause my daughters still work there and they tell her that they would love to get more hours! but when the schedule comes out they only work 1 day or the most 3 days a week, and the manager thats manages the servers also has her “favorites” when other servers offer their shifts my daughter that’s a server tries every-single time to pick up the shift but never gets approved she overlooks my daughter and probably other and picks her “favorite people”. So not going to lie This review I am typing hurts me and upsets me, cause it’s no fault to the big big bosses (the main bosses) 😏 If I was to get more hours I would so come back, if they were to ask me, but after this review they would hate me which is okay; I just want to let her and the person that reads these reviews and replies to the ones that they want to reply to know. I enjoyed working here the customers I enjoyed welcoming the guests & everything that came with being a HOST! But I do hope they start treating the “Lease favorites better” and to also know that the ones that really want to work got bills and some have a family to take care and yes the “pretty ones (Favorites) got bills too and a family. It’s just sucks that I left a place I wanted to stick with and see accomplish their huge goals and more…. I sincerely apologize for typing this review… I just wanted to be heard and the ones that don’t want to...
Read moreWife and I went for lunch today 7/23/25. It was our first time here. Our server was Chandi. She was wonderful. We each ordered a beer and a side Caesar salad which were great. We shared a Chicago Fire calzone without the sweet Italian sausage. There is a particular seasoning (not sure the name of it) in most Italian sausage I just don't care for. It came with Ranch. Pretty sure the menu said marinara, but I could be wrong. We asked for marinara but never received it.
The calzone we received was huge and looked fantastic, but it tasted like it didn't have any meat of any kind in it at all. I had to open it up to see what was inside. It appeared to have two or three slices of pepperoni that were diced up into 739 tiny pieces (no, I didn't actually count them).
The online menu lists only pepperoni and sweet Italian sausage, but I'm pretty sure the hand held menus we received also included salami. I'm posting two pics. One is a screenshot of the calzone from the website. The other pic is what I actually received. Guess which one is which.
We watched a couple of pizzas go past us to other tables. Wife said they looked just like the pictures in the menu. Maybe they were good. I don't know, but I guarantee the calzone isn't anywhere near what the menu describes.
They offered to make another one, but we waited so long for the first one that I didn't want to wait any longer. Paid for the beers & salad then left.
FWIW, the music is 99% modern pop and...
Read moreWent there at 4:00, before the rush... they said they were shift changing ,,alright ok. I wanted to place an order to go. After awhile, one said to another worker to take my order. Ordered a large thin crust Chicago 7 , And make my own calzone chicken, pineapple, green peppers, black olives. They said 15 to 20 minutes. So I stood there and waited. Then they said it should be out shortly, so I paid for it. Finally 40 minutes later they come with my order. Then comes I think he was the cook, says that isn't the right canzone he grabbed it and said he'd get the right one. So I decided I better check out the pizza,, wow what a suprise it was a large thin crust CHEESE PIZZA !! REALLY !!! I was so upset waiting so long and hubby waiting in vehicle. I said you know just give me my money back. Another person came she said I need to go in back to refund my credit card. OK,, well then she said I'll do it later and send you a text when I do it. She went on to say here you can take this pizza, i said its just Cheese,,, so i took it and we ate a couple pieces each it was not good No text message 😞 Checked my account and it was refunded. Still not happy as we were very hungry. The one who took my order, tried to blame ,,,?? I said I watched you write it down. And she wrote it right. She put it in computer wrong. No apologies either. Hope they change things since they have only been open...
