I ordered a Raspberry Kombucha and a French Dip sandwich which totaled to $17.45. The kombucha tasted delicious as I waited for my food. However, when it finally came to my table I was disappointed to see only the slices of roast meat on a piece of plain roll with au jus on the side, no cheese no other seasonings or onions which is typically how I expect a French dip sandwich to be. I approached cashier Misty and asked if the French dip comes with cheese because it was plain and simple. Without hesitation, she became irritated and said “did the other cashier ask you if you wanted cheese on it? You should’ve told her you wanted that on your sandwich” with an attitude. the other cashier who attended me did not offer this option. I was running late to an appointment and lost my appetite. I asked for a refund, which she proceeds to tell me “I can’t do a refund for something you ordered that you didn’t like, we can add cheese on it and have it prepped to-go”. The cook redid the sandwich and as Misty handed me the to-go box I let her know that I didn’t appreciate her rudeness and she didn’t apologize. I came hungry from work and decided to treat myself to a nice lunch but instead left...
Read moreWheat Montana takes the theme of sandwich & soup shop to a whole new level. Oh yeah, and they also really level up a good old fashioned bakery. They got it going on.
The name doesn’t sound like much, but Wheat MT knows their bread, and they make it fresh most every day. I mean, a place called “Wheat” should really be good in the bread department, right? Ha.
I actually chose to get cinnamon roll french toast in my visit. My mouth is still watering even after eating the entire plate and thinking back on it, by the way. And I don’t finish my plate hardly ever. Most of my party got sandwiches and they all raved about them. Had there been time to come back the next day in our trip, we would’ve in the blink of an eye.
There were so many other things I wanted to try here too. They have huckleberry everything- lemonades, coffee, jam, cookie mix, and just endless other things. Plus a whole array of muffins, giant cinnamon and caramel rolls, scones and basically every pastry I wished I could’ve stuck in my pocket for later. Although, the cinnamon rolls definitely would not have fit. Those seriously were monsters. I guess I’ll just have to go back! If you visit Montana this is definitely a...
Read moreI visited this place because I was excited about their “farm to fresh” approach, which I assumed would mean a strong awareness of ingredients and a commitment to quality. Unfortunately, when I asked if the bread contained any dairy (due to an allergy), I was told, “I have no way of knowing.”
As someone with a dietary restriction, this response was incredibly frustrating and concerning. If you’re serving food to the public, especially under the banner of freshness and health—you should know what’s in it. At the very least, staff should be trained to check or provide access to ingredient lists.
This experience left me feeling uneasy and unwelcome. Transparency about ingredients isn’t optional, it’s a basic standard for safety and trust.
*Replying to the response back - Thank you for the reply. Just to clarify, the person at the register did ask the individual who was training her, and it was that trainer who responded with “we have no way of knowing.” Given that the response came from someone in a training role, I didn’t feel it necessary to seek out a third person. I do appreciate your acknowledgment and...
