I went in after a pre-season game to check out the restaurant and the view from the roof. There is a really nice view of Lambeau, and you can see some of the action at The Bar and Anduzzi's. Otherwise, you are looking at a cop sitting in his car on Brett Favre Pass and the unappealing backside of Stadium View. It was hot that day, and I asked for water three times before someone remembered to bring it to me. It took them about a year to take my order. The waitresses were gathered around the TV while I was waiting. On my way out, they were standing around blocking my path to the elevator. I think somebody forgot they left the cleaning cart in the restroom. I doubt that is where it is meant to be kept over the weekend. That being said, it does look like there is a lot of indoor space up there. It looks like a good place to hold a meeting. However, I don't see this ever becoming a great hangout, the main reason being that the sidewalk drops off Brett Favre Pass before you get to Holmegren. It's annoying to walk back there if you are accustomed to walking on even ground and baby-soft sidewalks. The waitress recommended Lobster Rolls. I thought they were good, but couple at the table next to me said they were "really small portions." I'm also kind of a sucker for presentation, and it REALLY bothered me that they serve everything in cheap plastic cups. What happened to the glassware? Why are you trying to generate so much trash? It was still pleasant, and the waitress was very friendly when she was paying attention to what she was doing. She initially forgot to give me...
Read moreStunning views of Lambeau Field as well as the rest of the Green Bay area from the outdoor patio on the 6th floor. There were 3 tables of guests outside, but 2 of them went inside to order because the service was non-existent. Once inside, the bartenders apparently got no training with the new cocktail menu. Manager to blame for setting them up for failure, but also take some initiative to practice your craft. You must be able to tell a thyme sprigs from a mint garnish. On to the food, the menu gets kudos for being inventive. Some items are rarely seen or new to my eye. (Golden beet tartare). The choices we made were brilliantly plated, seasoned well, and perfect to share. The caviar deviled eggs were tasty and reasonable at $5. Crab cakes were served with a small dollop of remulade, and the pork belly tacos (you read that right) were topped with sliced radish, green onion, and cotija cheese. Overall, let's give the servers a chance to get their game together. The place can be special if the guests are treated the way they deserve. The young fella bartending at the main bar on the first floor shared experiences, told us stories, and we had a lot of fun hanging out with him. Keep working hard, and this can...
Read moreI haven't gotten food here before, but, as always, the drinks and the view and the service have been absolutely amazing. This is a great hotel, the rooms are amazing, and maybe my expectations were a little too high on the food, but for the prices, I thought it should be pretty good. Full disclosure, I did order this to go, so maybe that affected the look in the pictures. I decided this evening to get the deviled eggs, which are absolutely fantastic, and the wagyu burger. While the menu doesn't say what bread the wagyu Burger will be served on, I'm pretty sure an English muffin isn't the standard, at least I hope it's not, as it does not do it any justice. In addition, the menu lists onions which also were not on the burger. The flavor of the patty was very good, but on an English muffin, it just did not work for me. Again, if this is a standard serving, I hope they change a bun to something more complimentary to the Patty. If it was a mistake, it happens. All good and sorry for the review, but in the future, just let the...
