I don’t leave many poor reviews because sometimes people just have a bad day, staff shortages, supply chain issues, etc. however, there were way too many factors to my visit that I will not be recommending this restaurant or returning. This was my experience.
My husband were very excited to try a new restaurant in GB so we went to Heritage for dinner on Valentine’s Day at 5:00, we were the only ppl in there when we sat down. We wait about 10 mins to get someone to take our drink order. Waiting another 15 mins for a bottle of wine The server was super new and inexperienced but she did a great job. Anyways she needed help opening the bottle and it took another probably 10 mins to get the wine actually poured. I ordered the dry-aged ny strip and asked it to be medium rare. When I got my steak, it was way overcooked. Paying $55, I thought it would be fair to inform the server and she offered to take it back to be recooked. I felt super bad about this because I don’t typically complain. After another 10 mins, the manager came back out with my steak cut in half and said it’s dark in here, me and chef cut it and it’s medium rare. I was super embarrassed and said politely “maybe my definition of medium rare is different” but he repeated himself so I took the steak back. I ended up feeding it to my dogs. On top of all that, the steak was grayish in color. I have never experienced a restaurant that would bring a steak back fully cut into and try to give it back to the customer. That is just poor business practice, especially for a brand new restaurant. The server was obviously embarrassed for me also. She apologized a million times. On top of all of that, my husband’s meal (short ribs) was bland.
One thing that was nice was that they offered a complimentary jazz performance with champagne and chocolate after dinner, which didn’t know about this until we sat down. However, there were more issues with that and we ended up giving our seats to the pianists mom who was celebrating her bday because all the seats were reserved for patrons eating dinner there. Anyway, we didn’t get to see the performance, which is fine because I didn’t want to stick around after the embarrassment.
While the atmosphere is nice, I would suggest iron duck, chophouse republic, amphora, chefusion if you are looking for a decent meal. I would suggest trying out the rooftop bar upstairs, we loved our...
Read moreCelebrated my 50th birthday with my family at Heritage, located inside The Legacy Hotel the other week. The lobby was very pretty, and the lounge/bar area outside the restaurant was cozy. There was a talented jazz piano performer in the lounge prior to entering the restaurant. Their drinks were great. I had a brandy old fashioned sweet, and others in our party had the bacon fat washed old fashioned. It was our first time dining at Heritage. We had a larger party, so they put us in the back room where there was a longer table to accommodate us all. That was great because it got quite loud in the dining area as the place filled up. Having that space to ourselves was perfect for enjoying conversation and laughs. Our server was pleasant. She handled a large table well. The water server also did a great job replenishing our water and even took a picture of our table for me. We all ordered various menu items. Some were excellent, some were average, and some were a tad disappointing. To start off, the chicken liver paté appetizer was scrumptious. For the main course, Two of us had the Chilean sea bass with roasted broccolini and cauliflower. We were probably the most disappointed in the meal. It tasted as if someone dumped a shaker of salt on everything. For such a highly priced meal, I wasn't expecting it to be seasoned so heavily. I ate all of my fish (because who would want to waste a beautiful piece of fish like that?!), but barely touched the veg. The fish itself was amazing. Underneath the pan seared salty crust, it was mild, sweet, and delectable. Others at the table raved about the beef braised short ribs, the ribeye, duck breast, and salmon. Two in the party had The Legacy Burger. One was happy with it, the other wasn't due to it being overdone. Another person in the party had the ravioli with a sherry cream sauce. That dish tasted fantastic, but the cream sauce was very heavy and thick. We didn't have dessert, but they sounded great. It was very nice of the restaurant to allow me to bring my birthday cakes in for our dessert. Overall, it was a fun time in a swanky setting. I would try it once more, on a week night perhaps, in the main dining area. I would try something other than the sea bass though. We heard there's a rooftop bar at the hotel, as well. That might be fun to...
Read moreWe had a reservation for 10 on a Friday night. We were seated immediately, and our waitress Wendy was wonderful. She was very attentive and friendly. The piano player by the bar is a nice touch, but it is so loud you can not have a conversation. Now to the food: our party ordered for appetizers the shrimp cocktail and the crab cakes - both were fine, not overly flavorful but were fine. We ordered the New York strip steak, the Friday fish fry, the burger, duck, and lamb. The strip steak was ok. The charing on the sides took away from the flavor of the steak to the point that, that was all that could be tasted. The fish was also just ok, our friend stated that it just didn't have much flavor and needed salt. The burger had the same issue as the steak where the charring overpowered every other flavor. The two that ordered the duck and lamb were very happy with the tenderness and flavor of their food. The fries were also good that came with the burger and the fish. Dessert: we ordered the creme brulee and the apple cider vinegar donuts. The donuts were more bitter tasting than anticipated, we could not finish them, and the creme brulee was fine. Our friends said the grasshopper was good and the blue ice cream drink was good as well. The free limoncello shot at the end of the night was a nice touch for the table. Overall, the service was amazing, the atmosphere of the dining room is very nice, the food...
