We took a friend here for a birthday lunch as she wanted their Cod fish and chips. Hubby and I aren't fond of sports bars/restaurants so entered this venture with trepidation.
We were immediately seated by a pleasant young man and Isabella came to the table with a friendly smile to take drink orders and explain a few daily specials. After we explained that we weren't drinkers, she never mentioned beverages from the bar again which was appreciated.
The birthday girl and I ordered the fish and chips while hubby had half a club sandwich and onion soup.
The fish and chips were very good. Three very thick pieces of flaky cod about the size of my fist. The batter on the fish was crispy although a bit oiler than than I cared for. It should have been drained a bit more. However, it was still delicious. I got mine with fries and steamed broccoli, both of which were delicious. Hubby's club sandwich was also very good. I got to try the onion soup and agreed with the general consensus that it was alright, but nothing special. All in all, a decent lunch with a more tolerable sports bar atmosphere than some we've been in.
There were the expected bank of big screens, each with a different sport playing. However, there was no volume (thankfully) and the only thing to be heard was classic rock favorites. This was quite acceptable and a pleasant surprise.
Our server, Isabella took very good care of us, bringing us what we needed before we even realized we needed it, like drink refills! She also brought a small cupcake for the birthday girl to take home with her to-go box of leftover fish and fries. Thanks Isabella, you're a great server and made our birthday lunch very enjoyable.
All in all, a please t experience and delicious lunch. We would definitely...
Read moreOur Uber eats order was placed at roughly 8:40pm with an estimated delivery time of 40-50 minutes. At 9:48 the driver called me to tell me the restaurant had mistakenly given our order to someone else and had to prepare it again and the wait would be an additional 10-20 minutes. We said that was ok because we understand everyone makes mistakes. We didn’t receive our order for another hour and when we called the driver back to check the status he was being yelled at by the manager who told him he could either wait or leave when he asked a simple question of how much longer does the customer have to wait. The “last arrival by” estimate changed about 5 times during the 2 hour wait for our order. When we finally got it it was barely Luke warm. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant on Uber eats. We were beyond disappointed with the service from duffys and horrified by the way the driver was treated by the manager. He was nothing but kind to us and was simply trying to keep us informed on how much longer it would be. He didn’t deserve to be yelled at by the manager which we heard while on the phone with him. He of course was affected by this egregious wait time since he wasn’t able to accept anymore orders during this period. I will never order from this location again. It is only thanks to the driver that our order wasn’t cancelled at 120 minutes after the order was placed which the manager threatened him with. This experience was unacceptable not only to us but our family who had travelled all day and just wanted to get to their hotel...
Read moreWe ordered two separate steak dishes with mashed potatoes and sweet corn. Mine was a 7oz steak, and my husband's was a 12oz. Sad to say that our expectations of a tasty experience were soon destroyed by the absolutely terribly cooked steaks! While both were cooked, flavor seemed to have taken a hiatus, and the only saving grace was the mashed potatoes. The steaks tasted as though the cook just grabbed it out of the cold storage and threw it on the grill with no care to season it. Steak dishes are NOT cheap, and our date night turned quickly disappointing as neither one of us enjoyed our meals. When the waitress came by to ask how everything was, I explained that the steaks had no flavor. She seemed embarrassed and apologized, but nothing was done to correct it, nor did she immediately inform the kitchen. Also, it was supposed to be 2-for-1 happy hour for drinks. I ordered a gummy bear mojito but only received one that took some time to make it to our table. The bartender possibly fell asleep because I didn't get my second drink. We paid, tipped her and left with no future plans to return there. I suggest steering clear of the steak dishes because you'll spend $30/plate but only enjoy the side dishes. It was truly a...
