Mochinuts rating by flavors: Churro - 5 star, delicious especially when fresh and hot. Tasted like a churro with chewy center Brown Sugar - 0 stars - dry, no flavor, gross. Even if this was fresh/hot it would have been nasty White Chocolate raspberry swirl - 5 star - fantastic! White chocolate not overwhelming and hint of raspberry. Again, get frest/hot for best experience. American - 1 star - no flavor, just plain with some sugar icing. Was supposed to be raspberry and it was definitely not. Very disappointing....which I mean I guess that goes with the name 🤷♀️ Blue - 2.5 star - the half with the crumbles was tasty like a faint favor of a blue raspberry pop tart, other half had no flavor. I would not get this if it does not have the crumbles and if it was cold/sitting out for a while. cookies and cream - 2 star - the semisweet chocolate on top was overwhelming and the mochinut was overcooked.
Drink: Ube Brown Sugar - 5 stars!!! Delicious especially the Ube. This is the highlight of the trip. Only thing that could have made this better would be if it was honey Boba and not plain. I would get this again.
I don't know how people are saying they got the corn dogs since they won't even have the machine or ingredients till July 5th. 🤔 Went Grand Opening to be greated by a handwritten note on the door in what looked like yellow crayon saying their machine broke and they would be open the next day. No info on their social media about it till 3 hours after they closed. Today is the 3rd day of them being open and it was still a bit rough with low stock and no menu. Guy at counter was nice, but it was VERY hard to order since there is no menu for doughnuts, no clue what flavors actually are based on names like "American", and no pricing for them posted, just drink menu on the screen. 🙃 Guy at counter gave us a description of each flavor (which turned out to not be accurate).
I am going to go back and try the corn dogs whenever they get those sorted out, but probably not till next month when they hopefully get their stock and machines figured out. 😅 Really hope they bother to publish a menu somewhere (even just a weekly social media post) so people can know what the heck...
Read moreIt's with reluctance that I write this review, hoping initially that my experience was an isolated incident. However, conversations with fellow patrons have confirmed a unanimous sentiment: the service at this donut shop is remarkably unwelcoming, akin to the demeanor one might expect at a government auto pound, not a place that sells "fun" donuts.
These donuts, visually appealing and inventive, should be a joy to purchase. Yet, each visit is met with indifferent, emotionless expressions that scream a lack of interest in customer satisfaction. My inquiries about additional options or freshly made items were dismissed with a scowl by the staff member at the counter. Ironically, during one such interaction, a tray of new donuts was brought out, contradicting the employee's earlier assertion that no other items were available. Rather than acknowledging this, the employee seemed annoyed, particularly when needing to adjust my order to include these fresh donuts—which, disappointingly, tasted stale.
Attempting to improve the interaction with a generous tip did not alter the staff's demeanor; my gesture went unappreciated and unthanked. This consistent display of poor attitude has led me to decide against further patronage. I find myself in search of a donut shop where the staff is as delightful as the treats they sell.
In offering this critique, my hope is that the shop takes it as an opportunity for reflection and improvement. A more engaging and customer-friendly approach could transform the entire experience, making it as enjoyable as the donuts themselves...
Read moreI visited Mochinut on their opening day with several of my friends. We heard that HUNDREDS of people were planning on coming, so we were shocked how many people were showing interest. We wanted to show our support too. The line was long, but what else would you expect when hundreds of people showed up for opening day? I personally am not the biggest fan of corn dogs in general, but my friends said they were really good. I got donuts and boba tea. The boba tea is very sweet (delicious!) and the pearls are a little softer that other places I've been to. I may be a sucker for packaging, but the soda can look is super cute! I only wished they also sold metal re-usable straws like I've seen other boba shops do. Now for the main event: the donuts. I'm obsessed with Q texture, and these donuts hit that out of the park. The are bouncy and fluffy and honestly... just WILDLY fun to munch on. The variety is nice and it's kinda fun not knowing what flavors you'll walk in to (kinda like Jupiter Donuts). But you gotta get their early (4 pm or earlier on weekdays) because their flavors are popular and will run out. Surprisingly, as a strong flavor girly, I did like their crazier flavors (I recommend Ube and even mangolatta), but I found myself being drawn to the more standard "plain" flavors (churro and funnel cake are my favorite) mostly because the texture was so good, I wanted it to take center stage. Overall, I WILL be coming here many more times to feed my...
