Living in Milwaukee, I have been going to Canes in Gurnee and Kenosha for a year or so before they opened the Greendale location. I was excited since it’s closer to me and was even part of the first 100 people to eat there on grand opening.

However I’m very disappointed. I would give the Gurnee and Kenosha 5 Stars every time I’ve been. Greendale sadly, would barely get 3. I’ve been there about 5 times since it’s opened hoping it would get better as the business died down, but it hasn’t. In comparison to the other locations, the chicken isn’t as crispy and juicy, as well as the fries are soggy, also lacking crispiness. It’s almost as if the food isn’t being cooked long enough. My mother in law also told me she went and her chicken was RAW!! That just proves my hypothesis.

If I were to guess the cause of this, I’ve noticed it’s very busy since the closest to the MKE area, also that there’s a LOT of new/trainee workers at this location.

Piggybacking off of that, I’ve had sauce been forgotten to be added to my order multiple times. I understand this location is very busy but people need to pay attention.

Also the atmosphere…. Idk if it’s just the location or bc it’s so busy, but the environment is so so packed and a bit rowdy. Not to mention because the drive thru is still so busy you can’t even use the parking lot!! You need to park at southridge and walk over for Dine In.

Hopefully this will get rectified soon and the food quality will be what I’m used to with other Canes locations. I would hate to have to go all the way to Kenosha just to get Canes as I have prior to Greendale opening. Might try the Brookfield location to see if that one...

Well my buddy can’t stop raving about this place. But for me I’m not too sure. I ordered the Box Combo. This comes with 4 chicken strips, crinkle cut fries, a small cup of coleslaw, a piece of Texas garlic toast, and Canes special sauce.

The chicken strips themselves were very very tender and tasty, lightly breaded and fried near perfection. The special sauce was okay for my liking, it has a good mix of flavors and seems to go well with the chicken strips. The crinkle cut fries were nothing special in either taste being cooked. The piece of garlic toast was nice and has good texture and taste, and finally the coleslaw was also nothing special, it was just okay.

Would I go out of my way to buy a $12 combo again, I don’t think so. Don’t get me wrong, the chicken strips themselves were pretty amazing, but if I’m honest I can get almost twice the amount of chicken strips for almost half the price at Kwik Trip, they may not be quite as good, but good enough. Also extremely disappointing is the soda I had in my combo. I got a standard Large drink that had the cup filled to 3/4 of the way with ice. Which means I only got about 6 actual sips of soda. I’m not saying there shouldn’t be any ice, but 3/4 of a cup full of ice?? For proof see the attached pictures.

This is a fairly new location so this facility is pretty nice.

Just my opinion, but I was rather shocked and disappointed with the price for what I...

Food was absolutely terrible, I gave it a 3rd try just in case it was a bad day. The first time I went I waited in line for over 1.5 hours. The second time it was less but I sat at the speaker for 15mins as the employee just stopped taking orders at this lane, 4 cars went through the other side with a line several cars deep behind me before I could even order. The third time I went in and waited for 20mins behind 2 people as the employees weren’t even managing the front counter. Every time the food is so soggy it’s gross to eat. The chicken has no seasoning on it whatsoever. The sauce was not sweet or tangy, it was almost bitter. I know they advertise the sauce but I wanted to try without and it’s as bland as food can be. The fries were unsalted or seasoned, I don’t know as it was just soggy without even a pinch of flavor. The only thing with a flavor was the toast but you guessed it soggy. The first time I got it to go home and was just pure sogginess. I opened the container as soon as I got it the second time and that did not make a difference. The last part is the lemonade if that’s what you want to call it, was really just water. The lemonade was so diluted down I thought I had ordered water with a lemon in it?? This place is nothing like down south where the chicken is crispy, flavorful and the lemonade actually has a taste. 0/10 I would not recommend this place based on the quality, the food, and...

If you want the short review, it's not worth the wait. Literally every place I've been to is better for chicken fingers. Like, you know how some restaurants have kids menu chicken tenders? Those are better than the ones here and a big reason is because they at least have salt on them. We went before the dinner rush (3:30 on a Wednesday) and it was still a 45 minutes wait. The drive thru was a mess but considering that some people apparently waited over 2 hours during rush we were lucky. We ordered 3 combo boxes. They gave me the wrong drink (I ordered a regular coke and they gave me a diet coke, yes you can taste the difference and as someone who avoids diet soda it's a big yikes) but otherwise the order was accurate. The food was bland, cold and soggy. The fries might have barely made the definition of cooked, but they absolutely lacked salt and were soggy. The chicken was hot but had absolutely no flavor at all, like not even salt or pepper. With Cane Sauce they're at least edible but nothing worth the 45+ minutes wait nor the $40 price tag. The bread was soggy and despite looking toasted it certainly did not taste toasted. Either every influencer on TikTok has been paid off by their marketing or I have too advanced of a palate, either way it isn't worth the wait for the food we got. Don't believe the hype.

It took almost an hour to get through the drive-thru. The people who take your order have credit card readers, but do not take your payment. You have to wait till you get to the first window. They should have the prices posted along with a whole menu before you even get to the menus because they come and take your order before you get there. I didn't realize that they have such a limited menu it is amazing how little they actually offer and how long it takes to get your food. Just chicken fingers, chicken sandwich, crinkle frys, texas toast, coleslaw. There is only 2 dipping sauce. Cane sauce or honey mustard. We ordered 3 box meals, that's 4 chicken fingers, texas toast, coleslaw and cane sauce, and a drink. We substituted coleslaw for another piece of Texas toast. And they didn't do that. The chicken was moist, but the breading was half crispy and wet. Texas toast was soft, the crinkle frys were soft and mushy, they gave us 2 big drinks and 1 small and only 2 napkins. The coleslaw was good, cane sauce is good, but Chick-fil-A has way better sauce. I figured the chicken would be bigger. For the price, they wait and how there aren't constant results on food I won't be going back.
