Love the place until July 14. Birthday dinner reservations at 6 gone horrible wrong. First food has always been good. Why i gave it 3 stars. Group of 9. All guest arrived by 6 and met a the door for my surprised birthday party. Got seated right away. Wait about 20 minutes to get drink order taken. She went ahead and took food order as well. Everything was going pretty good. Got salad, soup for everyone, appetizer for 3 guest in about 30 minutes from order time. Drinks where 20 minutes. Sat down 6pm Drinks 620 pm Soup salad appetizer 640pm
Everyone is being rather patient in group but started noticing the people getting sat from 630-700 start getting everything including starting the grill cooking.
By 730 still no cook showed up yet. So I went looking for the waitress. Talk to to in private. She said the host seater forget to bring back a seating ticket for your group and we got skipped over. That why everyone came later, where eating and done. I asked to talk to manager, she said he's in the back preparing the food for are table to fix the mistake. I was like. Ok but the next cook better arrive at our table next or we will be leaving. She promise, no problem. Well, 8pm after watching two more table have cook showed up and food done, groups sat near almost 730. Enough was was enough. I'll told waitress to bring me the birthday boy a check for every drink, soup salad, appetizer for the 3 guest because we our leaving. After thinking about it a minute, manager was unavailable again. Honestly really don't think they had anyone that night. But she said, after all the trouble, don't worry about it. Just go. First right thing to happen..I sent my 75 year Aunt like a mom that drove down from Delaware Ohio hungry. I felt terrible. The waitress was very nice about this. It was a mistake by the host, mistakes happen but when realized they should have been fixed. So I will never be back because of this. Sucks because food was good. This wasn't a because of no employees, plenty others got cook after being seated over a hour later.
815pm 2 birthday balloons in hand...
Read moreFood was decent, but the service was mediocre. We asked to sit at the bar and the host gave us attitude for asking. Not sure what the issue was there as the bar was practically empty. Our server was nice enough, although she seemed like she was maybe still training. We had to constantly ask for things throughout our meal (silverware, napkins, soy sauce, chopsticks, etc.). The bartender was nice but got into an argument with a server right in front of us. It was very awkward and unprofessional although it seemed the problem was with the server, not the bartender. The servers were crowding us at the bar while we were eating to get to the bartender, even going so far as to throwing a check with some cash at her, OVER US, in what seemed to be an attempt at getting change. The staff then continued to talk about how dirty the restaurant was and how they’d just scrubbed grease from the walls. Black rags were present as evidence to this. And as I can understand the concept of the walls getting greasy with all the hibachi grills and “open kitchen” concept, it was definitely not something we wanted to hear/see while we were eating. We wanted to order some saki and possibly dessert, but were presented with checks before we could even ask. Again, the food was decent, but not the best. The sushi was good. Order togo and eat at home if you must try. Not the worst Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to but not even close to the best. I don’t believe we...
Read moreTried again to find a great Asian foods place and again failed.. this places hibachi cook was boring and very stingy with the all of everything. Why do so many people think that yum yum sauce is so awesome...its mayonnaise with ketchup! Authentic yum yum is NOT MADE WITH MAYONNAISE. And the scam of having to pay a tip to cover the hostess the cook and the person who cleans the seat you sit in is ridiculous. Their prices are very very high for the portions and the lackluster way that the Hispanic cook made these entrees. Also. True Hibachi chef in America are very proud of their craft and never miss an opportunity to entertain their guests with their skills with their knives. I have been in the best Asian food places abroad and in our beautiful country...and Hibachi in Lancaster is insulting to the tongue and to the ear. Proud and skillful Hibachi always speak English very clearly and politely. They do that because they are proud of their craft and they are Proud to be in America and Proud to be American as well. The lack of those skills in the Lancaster Hibachi restaurant amazed me and insulted me as well. I dont know why it is tolerated. I especially was insulted because I understood what they were saying.as they spat insult about the American people who sat in the Hibachi restaurant. Turn on your phones and program them to translate the next time you decide...
