UPDATE: After our last visit, we will never return, we asked for a steak and cheese quesadilla, the first attempt, they came out with no meat and it wasn’t grilled, so we tried to reexplain what we were asking for, it was on the menu, and it was later in the night, but they were serving food, and asking for a quesadilla with steak in it seemed like a standard order. The second time they came out with it, it was literally tortilla with nacho cheese poured in, however steak was added this time.
We were way over charged, the time it took to get the food was incredibly long, and we never got what we asked for. Ultimately we paid the over $60 tab for basically nothing and left and swore we would never go again. —————- If I were just rating this food the food taste, it would be a 5-star, but I only put 4 because of a mix of the service and the menu. I am a smaller lady, and never want rice or beans with my tacos. I said I would just like two tacos, no rice no beans. He seemed very confused, and did not know how to make that an order. I honestly figured they would charge me for the additional food since technically they do not have an "a la carte" menu. Which I was fine with, and it was really only the waiter that was the small hiccup here. He was nice otherwise, but made me feel very uncomfortable trying to order that as a meal. (Keep in mind every other Mexican restaurant never has a problem with this order and I have this type of food many places, many times a month). Pleasantly surprised however, the food was delicious and the waiter charged me a little less because it didn't make sense to charge for the whole meal. I want to go here again, but I have found myself hesitating because I really want to order exactly what I ordered, but do not want to feel shamed because it isn't strictly "menu". The taste of the food however was...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped by after wanting to visit since they opened. As soon as we walked into the little hallway they had upbeat music playing that made you want to dance. As you come in your greeted immediately and welcomed by a beautiful decor and atmosphere! The inside of the restaurant is very nicely decorated with Mexican decor! After sitting we were welcomed by a woman with a cart and shown the guacamole menu. This is awesome because they have a nice variety and the basic guacamole but it's made fresh and right in front of you. Reviewer "Jason G" could have ordered a simple guacamole! His review is really wrong I would like to taste his food, I can bet it won't be better than Habaneros! Anyway the guacamole was excellent, we went with the Chorizo mixed guacamole. I ordered a. Michelada and my wife ordered a Piña Colada. She absolutely loved her drink and I have to tell you the Michelada was on point👍. Si quieres una michelada perfecta este es el! For food my wife ordered a combination plate and I the Cadillac Tacos. All the food was beyond delicious! What I like is that they didn't Americanize their food and kept it all authentic! My Tacos were bigger than a normal taco and so very satisfying! They were cooked and seasoned to perfection! The presentation of the food was done nicely and made you want to just tear into your dish! The food was so good it had us planning our next visit already! Put the food, decor, music and the awesome staff together and it was perfect! Our waiter was friendly, courteous, attentive and helpful! Ignore any bad review on this place I think some people might of had a bad day when they wrote their review. Habanero's Restaurant is well...
Read moreWhen I worked at a national brewery in the 90's I watched one of their instructional videos for bar owners -- How to keep your tap lines clean. Otherwise mold will grow inside of them and be dispensed into the beer you serve. Since then, I’ve tried to always order bottled beer. Last night at Habanero’s restaurant, I ordered a bottle of Spotted Cow. They only had it on tap. So I got the tap. And what do you know! A two inch hunk of MOLD floating around in the beer! I didn’t see it at first, but felt it touch my lip when I took my first sip. I thought maybe it was a slice of lemon. Then I looked at it. SO GROSS! The waiter apologized up and down and said they had NOT CLEANED THE TAP LINES! Back to bottled beer for me. One other thing that was substandard, when we arrived and told the waitress we were there for drinks only, we sat at a table and were then ignored for 15 minutes or more. We had to get up and get our own drink menus. When the bartender finally noticed us not being served, he came over and took our order. After that and besides the moldy beer, we had a great time. We had chips and salsa that were good, and a tasty Jalapeno margarita that had a popsicle in it and enjoyed a fun evening with friends. I would like to give this place higher than a two star rating because of the fun we had, but mold in the beer...I just can't say it was a three star experience. The moral of the story is make lemonade out of lemons, or at least make fun of your moldy beer and stay...
