UPDATE BELOW We have been going to Bad Daddy's for a few years now and we love it. Honestly it's our "go to" burger spot. It is a "Burger Bar" so there is a bar and lots of TVs. The noise level is somewhat higher than a classic restaurant but it is not too loud to have a conversation. The food has always been good. Burgers, salads, chips, wings. We've never had anything we didn't like. It's also nice that you can "make your own" burger or salad. So if you want something wacky or eccentric it's literally at your fingertips. Regarding the service... It was always good and then a few months ago we had several poor experiences. At least 4 of 5 visits left us wondering if we'd ever go back. I mean slow servers and even slower food. It was actually ridiculous. We even canceled our order one time it took so long... Needless to say we were disappointed but one night decided to try it again and asked for a waiter who had helped us once before. He did a great job and even though the food was a bit slow he managed the table properly and never had us feeling neglected or forgotten about. So we went again and again and again... Every time since then things have seemed to get back to the way they used to be. Good service, good food and no ridiculous wait times for our food. (40 minutes etc) There is sometimes a wait to be seated but that's OK. Just goes to show how good things are here. I really can't recommend Bad Daddy's Burger Bar enough. If you want a delicious burger DEFINITELY give them a try! I think we go at least once a week. đ HORRIBLE UPDATE!!! I'm updating my review not going to delete and rewrite. I'm updating so everyone including management, staff and ownership knows that this isn't a "one off" as I've given them plenty of opportunities to make a good impression but sadly they did NOTHING to make me feel like we should give them another chance so they just lost a loyal guest. Since the last review we've been to Bad Daddy's several times. Unfortunately the last visit left me so disappointed. The first problem (albeit one I would have ignored if not for what follows) was the homemade chips came out and they were so very greasy. Honestly it didn't seem like the grease was old so that leaves the likely problem as the fryer not being up to temperature. So several paper towels later we were snacking on the chips. Next the food comes out and the fries were ALSO super greasy (again I wouldn't mention this if not for the entire experience) so fries on paper towels as we start to eat our food... But wait we can't eat... Why? Because we ordered food (salad and lettuce wrapped burger) that requires utensils. So we wait and wait and wait... Finally I ask the hostess for utensils and I'm told she's on it... A few minutes later and still nothing. I see the hostess talking with other employees so I go and ask her again. She is polite and informed me that there are no clean forks and she asked the kitchen to run the dishwasher and someone was to bring them out to us immediately. Just to be clear I do not blame her. In any case by the time the server brought us the utensils the burgers were cold and the greasy fries were cold and the mood had changed from "I'm starving and can't wait to eat a burger" to "OMG this was terrible. Not fun watching our food get cold and now I don't even feel like eating" The BIGGEST problem in my estimation falls on management. Having said that the "manager on duty" handled our situation pretty well. She comped the meal and apologized and said she understood. All the right things to do. In my opinion the one thing she could have done better is to give us a reason to come back! Offer some kind of reassurance that this wouldn't happen again. Unfortunately there was none of that. I blame management because it's likely an issue with supplies. (or possibly staffing) but my guess is supplies. The time before last we only got 1 fork. We shared it which in hindsight is ridiculous but we did cause "why not". Had they offered us something to come back we might have tried....
Read more(3.5 stars) Greensboro was already rife with burger places when Bad Daddyâs entered the fray last year, but the burgeoning Wendover Commons location made it a low-risk investment. Given how consistently busy this place is, the investment appears to have paid off. Whether or not that brisk business is justified is another matter.
Though many will come for the burgers, Bad Daddyâs did not neglect the âbarâ side of the name, and a centrally placed bar commands attention. There is a decent amount of table seating as well though Bad Daddyâs is not particularly spacious. As one might imagine, it can get loud in here.
Bad Daddyâs menu is a shrine to high-calorie decadence. Apps include not only fried pickles but fried deviled eggs (!!), there are several varieties of fries and tots on hand, and shakes range from basic to the aptly-named chunky Elvis (peanut butter, chocolate, banana, and nuts). Chicken sandwiches and salads can be found here too though burgers are the main attraction. You can build your own â and each table comes with a handy ordering for precisely that purpose â yet the default options are pretty damn enticing. Styles range from All-American to Southern to Philly to Steakhouse and several more in between.
For our first visit, my wife and I went with a Jalapeno Popper burger with sweet potato fries and a Pastrami Reuben burger with tots, respectively. The Reuben burger (served on rye) was delicious, delivering all the expected flavors of the sandwich atop quality beef. The Jalapeno Popper burger, decked out with jalapeno bacon and jalapeno cream cheese, was tasty as well albeit overcooked. A requested medium well came out a definite well-done. Both potato sides were winners and paired nicely with their respective dipping sauces.
Service left no room for complaint â Hali was attentive despite the restaurantâs volume â but pricing is another matter. Our burgers ran $12.45 and $11.25 respectively (sides included), which does not seem unreasonable given the toppings involved. However, whereas Bad Daddyâs uses a seven-ounce patty for most offerings, many equally decked-out eight-ounce offerings at Hops and Porter House can be had for less.
In a vacuum, Bad Daddyâs would rate higher, and it is a fine option for those traveling the Wendover corridor (provided that you can snag a table). However, for those with access to Hops, Porter House, or Big Burger Spot, it isnât worth going out of the way for. Think of Bad Daddyâs as the burger equivalent of fellow regional chain Macâs Speed Shop: a boisterous, slightly pricey purveyor of good-tasting/bad for you food that shouldnât be avoided but wonât displace...
Read moreService: The server (Bee M.) and manager at this location need serious intervention from upper management/owner. We have never been treated as badly at any restaurant as we were today at Bad Daddy's. We arrived at around 4:47pm and were seated immediately and ordered promptly. We waited almost an hour for our food and decided to leave. The server was asked for the check in order to pay for our drinks and appetizer. The server somehow instantly brought out the food after the complaint instead of the check. After informing the manager of our issues and informing her that we still wanted to leave, we were told "Its free, you can leave now." We were basically asked to leave for complaining about the slow service. The manager and server in question both lack any sort of emotional intelligence, empathy, or conflict resolution. I would like you to examine why exactly our party and another table near us still didn't have their food after 50+ minutes of waiting, while diners who came in 30 minutes after us got their food within 15 minutes of arrival (we all ordered burgers-our table and the parties that came in after us). The other table who waited for 50+ minutes decided to leave at exactly the same time as us.
Food: Bacon queso that we did actually receive was cold upon arrival and the bowl it was served in was maybe 1/3 of the way full for $9.95. Beer that was ordered was prepared within 5 mins of ordering but sat on the bar counter for 10-15 minutes before being brought to the table.
Restroom: Women's restroom looked like the restroom in the Saw movies. There are rust stains, splatters, and caked on dust on the walls at the base of the toilet. The restroom floors are grimy and not clean. The standard touchless soap dispenser on the wall was either out of service or empty. They instead had a stand alone pump of soap that everyone has to touch to dispense. What little soap was left clearly had been "watered down" to make it last longer. I question if the female staff of this restaurant are actually able to properly wash and sanitize their hands with this watered down soap after trips to the restroom.
Someone please help...
