There are very few words that can truly capture the magic of the delicacies served up by Black Magnolia. To put my honest opinion into perspective: Almost exactly 1 year ago to this very day, on a warm Sunday evening, I invited a first date to accompany me to a “Jazz In The Park” event where Veneé- The Damsel of Deserts herself, was hosting a Black Magnolia Baked Goods pop up shop.
Arriving at the shop, my date and I were immediately greeted with the tantalizing scents of cinnamon rolls, biscuits, & pastries on display as well as a hearty welcome from Veneé. The wares tasted just as beautifully as they looked, with each baked good being a work of art in its own rite. Now, It wasn’t exactly easy, but after my date and I finally decided on several Black Magnolia delicacies, we sat there in LeBauer Park for hours- tasting and talking all the while sultry live Jazz fills the air. We had so much fun deliberating over which artisanal treat we should try next and being utterly delighted with each bite we shared since each item featured totally unique ingredients such as Banana Bread Cheesecake & Toffee Pecan Cinnamon Rolls! Neither of us had deserts or an experience like that before and we genuinely connected over these baked goods.
Happy to say that we’re still together to this very day and we often reminisce on how amazing our first date was, which in part we have Black Magnolia to thank for that! So again, it’s quite difficult to truly capture the magic of the delicacies served up by Black Magnolia, so you’re better off just giving these enchanting treats a try...

Its true, it wasnt the best, but their response showed me poor ability to take feedback. I also saw no sign of anything explaining in the shop what a staggered menu is, or that they do that in general. I also just thought the baking was poor quality! Its my review and opinion. People will always decide for themselves in the end anyways. end of added in edit
I dont have any interest in returning. The girl who rang me up was very pleasant and nice. The lemon-blueberry “cinnamon” (no cinnamon) roll i ordered was nothing special. Just dry-ish bread and an extremely sugary lemon frosting. The strawberry matcha scone i ate was actually very yummy, but to me it was not a scone.
At 9:30am on a Wednesday, im surprised to see so few options. Maybe 7-10 different items total, which is surprising for a business that is entirely a bakery. Sugar-baked treats are always tasty to snack on, but to eat a well baked pastry with good flavor and texture is what id expect from a bakery- and this place did not deliver that expectation. The roll, which they sell tons of variations and flavors of, reminded me of something packaged and store bought even though they were indeed...
Read moreI stumbled across this place on a trip for work a month ago and HAD to make a day trip today! It’s the cutest location tucked away (moving soon in same building to have seating capacity and expansion! The people are the nicest! I called explaining that the cookies I bought had been so wonderful that I had to return for more, which was no problem because by the time I got there, he had me a fresh dozen that he just baked and were taking them from the oven! I had gotten the cookies for coworkers and tried a bite myself! I drove an hour and a half today back here! Let me tell you, the BEST chocolate chip cookies I ever had tasted! I’m not even a sweet’s person but these cookies taste amazing! My coworker told me that he literally was licking his cookie because it was so delicious! We also picked up some gluten free lemon blueberry scones for our pastor’s wife! I’ll be returning again once they open with seating to try out the amazing breakfast sandwiches that I’ve read about! Mmmmm Worth the trip! Thank you to all of the staff who made our visit so lovely today! We look forward to seeing...
