We are utterly surprised at the high ratings. Everything was poor from the level of customer service to the food quality. We came by on a Sunday around 1pm after church. When we came in, we were not greeted. We told the front staff lady “party of five” and she pointed to the menu above her head. We advised that we were first timers which should have been her prompt to welcome us and advise of how things worked considering that they are essentially a self serve restaurant. Nope. We ordered 2 pizzas, 5 drinks, a slice of carrot cake and gelato. We had to ask where to get the drinks, the gelato and for the cake slice which she must have forgotten was her responsibility. Each question was responded to by pointing. I guess they’ve been trained not to communicate with customers. We grabbed our own drinks from the drink fridge and sat ourselves. While we waited, we shared the slice of carrot cake which was stale. And I do mean frozen then thawed and then sat for some days stale. It was flavorful though so I’m sure in its hay day it was a great dessert. The food came out pretty quickly by a masked worker without plates. When asked about them, she too pointed to the back of the room where they could be picked up. Again not speaking a word. No greeting and no verbal response to a customer inquiry. The pizza was a 4 at best. I knew it was bad when our 11 year old pizza officianato refused seconds. I sent our son to pick up the gelato which tasted just like Breyers Vanilla Bean. We began to wonder why we were prompted for a tip when we prepaid at arrival. We would have tipped because that is just who we are, but the point is that it’s a 90 plus percent self service pizza joint. We were extremely disappointed and needless to say will not be returning. 😟 On another note, the mask mandate was not enforced. Most patrons...
Read moreVisited this location to meet up with a great girlfriend on a Saturday night. Granted we didn’t get there until 8:00pm and they closed at 9pm, so we didn’t have a ton of time, which was ok because they had an outdoor seating area that we moved to once they closed. Upon walking in, there were no directions on where to sit, and we really weren’t acknowledged, so I asked a patron who was standing next to me where/how to order, which she was kind enough to explain to us the process. When it was our turn to order, I kind of got the feeling that the gentleman behind the counter was either rushed or annoyed because the answers that he gave us to the questions we asked were very rushed and so we just settled on a pepperoni pizza to make his job easier. We received no instructions on where to get our drinks, we kinda had to figure it out. I will say that when our pizza came out, it was hot and very delicious. The ingredients were fresh, and the crust was really good. Also, at the time we arrived there were still quite a few people to include large families seated in the restaurant, but we were still able to find a quiet place to sit while we caught up. Once the restaurant closed, we moved to the outdoor area to finish conversing and the only issue that I had with the outdoor area was that one of the back tables had not been cleaned off and had a lot of remnants of food, and animals were creeping over because of the food. Now I am not sure who’s responsibility it was to clean that area (patron or server), but nevertheless it should have been cleaned up prior to closing. Will maybe try to visit again, as the experience wasn’t terrible, customer service just wasn’t the best, but the pizza was...
Read moreCugino Forno really doesn’t live up to the hype! The area is nice and there is a large water tower beaming outside the restaurant. There were even some replica motorbikes and cycles outside to give the place a rustic vibe! We walked in, expecting to be seated, but apparently you have to order right then and there! We ordered a margarita and a veggie pizza. You get a flag post with a number to put at your table and they bring you your pizza. Although it seemed fresh, it was served cold and soggy. They also had a spice bar, with some condiments that elevated the bland pizza at least a little bit. However, there was nothing to dip our pizza in except more marinara which was already smothered all over our pizza! And, when we asked for ketchup, they just brought us MORE marinara! Neither of the pizzas were particularly flavorful either, the toppings were sparsely distributed and sometimes ruined the flavor! For example, the onions were sweet, and they put whole cherry tomatoes on it too! The crust was fluffy, but it tasted as if it was burned! We couldn’t even finish all our pizza! And also, the price of these pies were pretty steep! More than $20 each! We were deciding on whether or not to try the gelato which seemed tempting. We got a sample of the caramel flavor and it was pretty good! Their sample sizes were generous!
Overall, don’t come if you’re looking for good pizza. You’d be better off at mellow mushroom, or even a casual fast food pizza joint! We won’t be back, but I’m sure the mill will...
