I had extremely high hopes as soon as I walked in the door. The environment is fabulous and the smell intoxicates you as you walk in the door. It is unlike any bar I have been in. Unfortunately it suddenly fell flat at the end of our night as I realized that this is not a bar for experimenting. I was very interested in some of their signature cocktails, as I knew I have a sensitivity to spice I asked them to reduce the jalapeños in one of their drinks to better accommodate my tolerance. Immediately it was so spicy I couldn’t even drink it, maybe this is partially my fault but I am a firm believer that if your guest isn’t happy you do what you can to make sure they are enjoying their experience. After requesting a new drink, my previous drink was not removed and I was then forced to pay almost $20 for the previous drink I didn’t take more than 2 sips of. After not even bringing it up to the bartenders as I have worked in the service industry for over 20 years I was going to pay for it. I was then asked by the bartender because he must have noted our expressions, whether the other bartender discussed the spici-ness of it with me and was it adjusted to your liking? It was not. The way it was approached, was in a way that was entirely uncomfortable. This therefore led me to believe the staff was entirely appalled at my lack of acceptance with “their perfect level of spice” and treated me like I was the problem. I highly recommend the atmosphere and the other drinks I got were delicious but the lack of customer service for such a new business was...
Read moreThis review is based on our interaction today - May 1, 2025, because I have visited this establishment previously with no issues. We had a reservation for 15 people. The manager said "we were on the books", but it wasn't a reservation because he didn't know about it! Is that our duty to make sure he knows when we planned with a business representative? When we planned the event we discussed the charcuterie that was available. On the day of the event we were told that they did not have Charcuterie's available. THEY forgot to order!! So, we said that is disappointing but we can order in pizza or something from one of the restaurants nearby. . The young lady working there said we cannot do that because the owner will not allow it and she called the owner. He said he would come there. He came in and walked by us with no Acknowledgement (we were the only patrons in the place) and he went to the back. Then he addressed us and said that he was not scheduled to be there but he drove 20 minutes. Okay...! He said you did not have a reservation because "I" didn't know. Being on the books is not a reservation. Is that our issue?? - no! He said he would not allow food from anywhere or restaurant because it could be contaminated and he would not want the liability. We said if anyone got sick we would have the receipts from the restaurants. We have 15 professional people that will have cocktails for 2+ hours and we need to provide food that you failed to provide. He...
Read moreCool vibes Horrible execution
While Muddle promises cool vibes, the reality falls flat on execution. In a city like Greensboro brimming with cocktail options, Muddle fails to distinguish itself.
Firstly, let's talk about the menu, or lack thereof. For an establishment charging a premium of $18 per drink, one would anticipate an array of inventive concoctions. However, Muddle disappoints with a lackluster selection of the most basic cocktails imaginable. What's worse, they don't even bother to disclose the brands of alcohol used, leaving customers in the dark about what justifies the steep price tag.
Adding to the disappointment is the lack of hospitality from the staff. Instead of a warm welcome befitting an upscale lounge, we were met with indifference from the bouncer/host. Their demeanor was far from inviting, and the absence of any genuine greeting left us feeling unwelcome. It's perplexing how a place aiming for sophistication fails to grasp the importance of customer engagement.
In conclusion, Muddle has a long way to go before it can compete with the vibrant cocktail scene in Greensboro. With some much-needed improvements in both menu curation and customer service, perhaps they can salvage their reputation. Until then, I'll be enjoying my drinks elsewhere, perhaps at The Quarter across the street, where the experience is as satisfying as the...
