I’m fat. I like to eat. I like to eat ice cream. It was a 75 degree day in February. I said to my wife, I’m not fat enough, I should probably go enjoy the weather and get some ice cream. We went. She likes mint, I like cheesecake flavor. We ordered. We even played the stupid game of calling it by their name. Like it…she added chocolate chips, to make it mint cocholate chips. I just got my cheesecake flavor in a cup, because I’m fat and will eat more later, I just wanted a small. The two gentlemen working in there seemed less than enthused to 1) be at work 2) wait on people. They didn’t greet us, or even seem interested in providing any kind of customer service. I’m ok with that, because I’m fat and there for ice cream, and I’ve been conditioned to bad service at the location. I paid, I still have them a tip because I was once young, and not as fat and worked some bad jobs. The tall guy, who is like 6’4” has the personality of a flounder. Even on shift with what similar aged female employees, he works at the pace and enthusiasm level of a prisoner of war. The other guy on shift I later learned was the lead or manager for the day. Since it was nice out, I somehow managed to squeeze into a chair outside and begin to devour my ice cream like a cast member of my 600 lb life. It was a small, or like it size, I ate it, we talked. My wife complained her mint had no mint flavor, I was thinking the same about mine but didn’t say anything because I get made fun of if I bring up the fact that I think there’s a change in a recipe or a different person made something at a local haunt. I’m hyper aware because I’m fat, and like to eat. Anyway, I began to think…do we have COVID?!?! Man. I managed to waddle back into the shop to inform the two “employees” that their ice cream had no flavor. I didn’t really care, but asked to try the cinnamon to deduce if it was me or the ice cream. I could taste the cinnamon. I didn’t and for anything other than offer a heads up, your two flavors I purchased, and tipped two lousy employees on, have no taste. No apologies, no I’m sorry how can I make this visit better for you. I went back outside, and still picked at my flavorless mass of cold sugar milk water and noticed my wife barely ate any of hers. She was like what’s the point. It’s gross. While still fat, and having walked so much in and out of the shop twice, I thought, lemme get a rain check for hers at least. Trade off 13 dollars for 1 rain check. Not asking to get one for mine because my sausage fingers managed to shovel half that “like it” down my gullet. I met the hat wearing “lead” who informed me that he tried the mint and it was indeed minty. The cheesecake was not flavorful. I said ok, well how bout a rain check for one. I was informed he would have to call the “owner” Rodney to get clearance. He went into the back of the shop to dial up Rodney and take a while to run down the series of events that transpired, leading to his call the “Rodney” the owner. The tall guy was left to attempt to cover the incoming orders by himself and provide less than adequate service to another set of patrons. God speed to them. The hat guy came out with a cordless phone from 1997, handed it to me and said “Rodney” the owner will talk to you. Rodney introduced himself as I’m sure he does when when he gets similar calls, this is Rodney. He explained to me that hat guy ran down the series of events leading to our talk which were, in fact, incorrect. He was hung up on the fact that I “ate half my order” and literally had an accusatory tone in his voice. I corrected Rodney that I was not looking for a refund, not looking for an additional order be made today. I was looking for a coupon for 1 rain check on a two item order that was less than satisfactory. 13 dollars for a “Like it” isn’t a bad deal in buisness.to...
Read moreSarah, of all people, the MANAGER at this location leaves a lot to be desired. She should not be managing anyone’s store. I can only think the reason she is still there with the comments/complaints from previous customers, her behavior and unpleasant disposition is because of nepotism. She must be related to someone or someone owes someone a favor for her behavior to be acceptable and tolerated by her boss. I have encountered this woman on more than one occasion, over the phone and in person, and her behavior was rude each time. During my visit, she also exhibited having an attitude after preparing my order by the way she handled utensils with aggression and the way she bagged my ice cream and slid it to me across the counter, never saying thank you or showing any type of appreciation for me as a customer. As for the ice cream, my choice being Cake Batter, it was not as expected. When choosing my flavor, I did notice that, that pan appeared to have had ice cream added to it as though there may had been extra from another pan. It is possible someone could have added the wrong flavor on top of the Cake Batter. Also, it appeared very soft, more so than usual when the mix-ins were being added. Once home, I noticed it had a tangy flavor almost like that of yogurt. It was not good at all. I did call the store, but Sarah was not there. I agreed to bring the ice cream mix back the next day and decided against it and threw it in the garbage because I just did not want to deal with Sarah again. This particular visit was to receive an approved complimentary replacement by the owner for a past order incorrectly made by Sarah. It took some time to hear back from the owner, but once I did, we discussed my complaint and he offered a resolution which I greatly appreciated, but dealing with Sarah turned my happy moment into a moment of annoyance and left me not wanting to ever come back again. With my mix-ins, she left out half of an Oreo cookie. When asked if she could scoop up the mix-ins and put them in the cup, she would not, but instead told me I could buy it. When I asked her how much, she stated $4.00. She wanted to charge me $4.00 for the leftover ice cream with mix-ins that was less than a quarter of a cup. I would like to know how she came up with that arbitrary amount. It would not have even filled a Like-It size. She would rather toss it than let the customer have it. How...
Read moreGot there at 9:28 when they close at 10 the door was locked but customers were inside. Me and about 8 other people were at the door trying to get their attention as we thought someone accidentally locked the door. The black guy (I think was a guy) kept looking at us then looking away like he didn’t see us. RUDE. Then a white girl came to the door opened it and said we’re closed! And shut the door on us. We said it ain’t 10 yet!! She came and said the ice cream machine was down even though there were tons of trays with full ice cream with 6 people in line inside the store to get some!!! I stayed in the lot and another white woman said she worked at a cold stone before and that the lady wasn’t making sense. She went back in and talked to the white girl that slammed the door on us. They served her and she came back out and told us the girl kept changing her story. First it was the ice cream machine then it was the cooler to keep the ice cream pans cold. First the owner told her not to serve customers but then told the lady they can serve some it’s just going to be a little melted. The lady said she asked to get the info to contact the owner but she refused. Then when she said why didn’t you tell us that you could serve us some stuff cuz we asked if we could get other stuff than ice cream when she slammed it in our face she said “I ain’t gonna argue wit you” seems like she got caught up and mixed up her stories maybe they just wanted to close early and go home I don’t know I just know the lady was waiting a bit before the girl behind the counter even helped her. This was my spot but nah that wasn’t cool! I told my people what happened and decided we will go elsewhere. Plus they might be racist as all of us waiting at the door were not white but they served the white lady that went back in. Who I might add said she would not be returning after that fiasco. You would think if your ice cream is about to melt you would want to sell it or just stick it in the back freezer and get what is needed until the front cooler is fixed. If the owner directed them to close that was a loss of a...
