Nothing ruins your experience than being told by a teenager at the register that they can't accept payment when you hand them a $50 dollar bill. When asked why, the answer was it's our policy because it may be counterfeit. No signs are posted informing customers but that shouldn't matter. When I pointed out that they make counterfeit pens she told me they had one but sometimes counterfeit bills still get threw and then rejected by the bank. I doubt that plus what if some paid with multiple counterfeit twenties? When she asked if I still wanted my order, given my choice of legal tender wasn't accepted, I said no and my party left. I can buy an overpriced smoothie anywhere and doubt I'll ever return to this establishment. Typically, I would give Juice Shop at 5-star rating. However, yesterday I went into the juice shop in Winston to find this almost heavy set guy at the register. He was sweating really really badly. I mean I didn't mind because it's the first week of July and its getting pretty hot out. He proceeds to take my order. After taking my money he picked up his phone, put it down then wiped sweated from under his sweaty arms.

That's when things took a turn for the worse. He began to make my smoothie without washing hands. I asked another worker there to ask him to wash his hands. She looked at me and said "That's none of my business". I mean come on. His sweaty hands peeling my bananas. They didn't ask him to wash his hands. I asked for my money back. Ill never go back there. I have had smoothies from Juice Shop before and they were good...which they should be for the prices they command. Nothing under $5. Which makes it all the more surprising that they do not accept debit/credit cards. I tried to buy a smoothie today, a warm spring day around lunchtime when a place like this should be hopping. It was dead as a doornail, yet there were a half-dozen people working. So they must be taking the fees they'd pay the banks for card transactions and spending it on needless labor.
