Unfortunately, I just witnessed a situation that may have resulted in me not supporting this facility again. I know it can be hard to use good judgement in certain situations , but I also believe in chances and hearing someone out. I encountered an older gentlemen (76) years old to be exact. For a lot, elderly are usually on a fixed income. I met him on my way out. He walked in, clean guy, dressed, very respectful and talks well. Oh and black. Visibly a normal person. He later tells me The very streets heās worked on, the Woolworth building to be exact, he came in asking for help. He asked for $1.25 so he can catch the bus. Given the amount of homeless people thatās downtown (I know bc I live down here) I can understand the hesitation. You give theyāll keep coming back. I understand. But we have to maybe teach on ways to use our judgement and trust our beliefs. As they told him they CANT help him, I couldnāt help and he couldnāt help but to observe a tip jar with a bunch of 1ās and change. now off of my observation that hurt me. Bc I trusted his story and believed his words. Why not hear him out. I mean did it really cost you sooo much to grab a $1.25. Is there something in place where you can help 1 person a week, even 1 person a month. I donāt know. I just felt so bad with the money sitting there right in front of him and the barista or clerk said no we canāt help you. The very streets heās labored in. I ended up walking back to my apartment , finding him again, gave him $2 in change and we walked together right over to the bus station and I walked home...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI come to greensboro once a year for two weeks. I take my morning coffee outing pretty seriously. have sampled every single coffee shop in the downtown greensboro area and can say definitively that this is the best of them. Any hole in the wall can brew a pot (common grounds) but if you want a latte or something requiring some skill behind a machine this is without a doubt the place to go. The baristas have the skill and desire to actually make the drink taste the way it was intended which is a rare thing in todays world. A good measure of whether a place is serious is if they make their own syrups (they do) and whether they can make a properly balanced vanilla latte (they do- not too hot, not too sweet) no other shop downtown puts out a proper or memorable latte in my opinion. Really great to see people taking it seriously and cutting no corners. Theyre friendly as well which is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFrequented this coffee shop everyday I was in Greensboro! My husband and I consider ourselves coffee "snobs" and we both loved this coffeehouse - single origin beans, drip coffee you can drink black and it tastes amazing, and lattes that need no flavor/sweetener to taste incredible. Beyond the incredible coffee, the inside of the coffeehouse is perfect for work, study or socializing. It is very cute and quaint, yet spacious enough to never feel crowded. Lastly, the service is amazing. The staff recognized me after one day and I overheard them recognizing other customers and remembering their orders. Even though I was traveling and a tourist in Greensboro, their service made me feel like a local....
