Stopped by on a whim today after wanting to go ever since we moved to the area. The actual cafe part is rather small, but cute and cozy. Thereās a nice little āloungeā that is a little more private. I didnāt realize this before going and had never gone to a cat cafe before but the cats are behind a āpaywallā (ie: you need to pay in order to visit them.) I understand why (pay for their upkeep, make sure they stay healthy, etc), but nevertheless, was a little disappointing. However, the are quite visible through windows and doors, so we still had a nice time watching them. They seem extremely well cared for and happy, and if we ever want to adopt another cat, I would consider getting one from here.
In regards to the ācafeā part of business, I was a little underwhelmed. When I asked if they have a tea list, the barista just literally showed me the bags of loose leaf tea and tea bags. I prefer teas and after reviewing their available teas, I donāt recall seeing any black options, only herbals. I ended up getting a hot chocolate instead since I wanted a black tea. The hot chocolate was enjoyable. They have some baked goods- I bought a gob and a piece of banana bread. I asked the barista where they were sourced from (they looked yummy and homemade.) She didnāt really know which I found a little odd, but I guess if I like them, Iāll just go back to the cafe. I didnāt prefer the music on today. I know the baristas usually choose the music. It was rap today (which I donāt mind at a club), but the frequent unfiltered ān**ā and āfā was a little incongruous with a cat cafe in the middle of the afternoon on a Tuesday.
Overall, an okay to good experience, though the cat aspect seems to be much better than the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to a few cat cafes now, and this was not one of my favorites. They have almost 600 adoptions which is HUGE number and super cool, and the drinks were pretty good. But I was really disappointed in how the cats were during my visit. The lounge is not monitored well enough, and there were several times where children were unattended. They werenāt doing anything out right harmful, but there were no parents or staff in the rooms to bring this attention to. They would show signs of distress (swatting, biting, hissing) and it eggs the children on more. Which brings me to the next point, the cats have no where to hide. The rooms arenāt tiny, but they arenāt very big either, for the amount of cats and people allowed in at once. There is no hidden area, or staff only areas, for the cats to get a reprieve if they are over stimulated, which has been the practice at any other cat cafe I have been to. And most shelters. The staff was also not the friendliest. They definitely were not out right rude, but yelling into rooms about appointments and rules, as opposed to just talking to us, felt off. Also no one bothered to see if any of us had signed the waivers for going into the lounge. There was also a volunteer who didnāt identify herself, so I didnāt realize thatās who she was. She was playing with the cats the whole time, and was generally unhelpful to our fairly basic questions, like names of the animals. Itās a good cause, and one cat lover to another I hope more cats get adopted. I just wish the animals there had a space to go to that wasnāt over run...
Ā Ā Ā Read more-sick cats needing antibiotics (per convo between 2 workers) -RUDE staff
Staff was rude. Been here multiple times and was happy to support a good cause, but will not any longer. When we first entered the kitten room my daughter did try to pick one up which I immediately corrected. One of the workers, Alexa, was extremely rude. She would stand outside the door looking inside the door watching my daughter. It was strange behavior and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Also, Alexa and another worker were inside the kitten room at the same time as us at one point and were talking to each other about one of the black kittens had some sort of drainage going on causing the kitten to be dirty and sticky and they said all the kittens needed to be on an antibiotics. I have 2 cats at home and it made me scared to think of bringing a sickness or disease home to them due to the cafeās negligence of the cats health. I think as a non-profit they would have a staff that is friendly and happy to have customers; this is not the case at this cafe. The staff here is rude and their unwelcoming and unpleasant behavior is enough to keep...
